I discovered Stargate because my roommate in college liked it & would watch it after I went to bed at night. I eventually started accidentally staying awake to listen to how the episodes ended.
Years later, my husband asked me if I had seen Stargate & I told him about listening to it in college. He went out and bought the entire first season and we binged it over a few days. Then, he got season 2, etc. we finished all of them just before SGU came out & watched that when it aired.
Since then, our kids have gotten older & I have introduced them to Stargate one by one. It holds up beautifully. My kids love it.
The situation is telling on more than one level as it pertains to Stargate. Anyone with a franchise of this level, show with a solid legacy to more than a solid legacy. This is something that can happen to you. That's right Farscape. That's right Friday the 13th (see Bryan Fuller). The list carries on. Now is your time to speak and support what is a turning point for ALL fandom worldwide that has yet to feel the situation as it is. #SaveStargate

I want to hear from you, why is Stargate special?
How'd you find it?
What special memories does it hold?
Let's show @AmazonMGMStudio why Stargate is so special to us fans.
Ok so I'm gonna give some clarification on why I'm so in on the Stargate revival rn.
To me, Stargate is my entertainment version of comfort food. I rewatch all three shows and every episode every year. And it's my absolute favorite show.
It all started when I got out of the Army and back from Iraq. Before that I did enjoy it. But I wasn't a major fan. But my Grandma pulled me aside one day. A day I was genuinely struggling mentally. And had me sit down and watch it with her.
After about an hour of enjoying that time with her and cringing every time she mentioned how great Richard Dean Anderson's ass was. I grew to absolutely love the show. She managed to get me out of my funk with humor and togetherness. I'll never forget that toothless grin as she pointed to the screen at Anderson. Purposely making me uncomfortable and laughing.
There's a good chance I wouldn't be around without that. I was genuinely struggling then. And Stargate with my grandma is what helped bring me back from that brink.

@OmoAlade005 I love Sansa & The Starks. In that world, you care for yourself, your people, and your kingdom or you all die together. You take help where it’s offered & stay true to your allegiances, but ultimately, no one comes before your household and/or kingdom.
Why is STARGATE so important to me ? Well… 👇
Stargate is a show that I grew up with, it was a friend in need, it was a journey we as fans all went on together. I’m in my 30s now and Stargate is one of 3 shows I actively rewatch.
Stargate was optimistic about the future, it had good lessons, it was comedic, it was serious, it was FUN. It wasn’t doom and gloom like a lot of scifi these days. It was positive and hopful generally.
Stargate was was escapism, it had moments where you would have tears of laughter, moments you cried…. A lot.
Stargate was and IS a broad group of people. It would draw in those from both sides of the political isle (something in today’s environment that is quite an achievement for a show) and managed to toe the line between gun hoe action or simple a story in a room. An entire episode. Just in a room. Picking apart a character. It really and truly was. Something for everyone. The showrunners loved that show! We trusted them!
The journey we all went on with Stargate was there in the hard times. I’m sure we’ve all had those moments. It was that little flicker of joy in what might’ve been a pit of despair.
Stargate isn’t the only show to do this, but Stargate did it well. For a LONG LONG time.
The franchises fans gave a lot of goodwill to this project. Something unheard of in today’s climate. The creators were on board. The ex actors seemingly looked exited about it too.
The way this got canceled was confusing. It just doesn’t make sense. Other than miscalculation or this is part of a modern strategy for marketing to get hype built up and get people talking. I don’t know lol.
So yeah, Stargate means a lot to us fans who are super fans of it, but we also aren’t the only ones. Many people are discovering Stargate and enjoying it just as we did. To see that be curbed and stopped. That’s sad.
This franchise doesn’t deserve to end. It deserves the life we literally just had.
I hope we can get this one over the line. I truly do.
Dial the gate. Just one last time @AmazonMGMStudio let them try for a season. If it doesn’t work out. It doesn’t. But let them try.
