Still my absolute favourite MSR edit. The most beautiful gut punch of nostalgia and pure happiness. Reposting so I can pin it and watch it on repeat 500 more times 😭🥰
@lescarletwoman Love this thread, and I just love them. You probably already know, but there’s a second time she calls him honey too, when Tim claims Alan’s book was shorter than the other guys, and Ellie jokingly adds “yours was fully illustrated honey” 🥰
@thelostaeons That their relationship in JP1 is in question is astounding. Do people require there to be a kiss or s*x scene to catch on? It’s made very clear. And if still in doubt watch any interview with Spielberg, Koepp (script writer) or the actors .. they all confirm they’re a couple.
This is a cut scene, but they were intended to be a couple from the get go. It is very obvious.
It's also one of the reasons why people were upset with their relationship in JP3.
@MuseZack Completely agree. A perfect character arc, done very intentionally and executed perfectly esp in that final shot of them. Having them together in JP3 with those kids being his would not have even required much change to the overall script. Such a shame.
@MuseZack@EliVronsky True. Plus there’s the fact that in the movie script it explicitly states their ages as being late 30s (Alan) and late 20s (Ellie). The actors real life ages and their ages in the original book are just not relevant imo.
I actually like the sometimes maligned Jurassic Park 3, but it still pisses me off that it had Alan Grant childless & Ellie married to another guy. Talk about missing the point of this shot, which is the purest "Okay, I'm ready to be a parent now" moment in cinematic history.
I’ve been obsessed with this deleted moment or set photo from Jurassic Park of Laura Dern and Sam Neill high-fiving during the sick Triceratops scene since I got it on an Australian Jurassic Park trading card. Was this actually ever in the film? It’s such a vibe.
Why is everyone assuming the character Alan Grant has died too? 💔
It’s bad enough our beloved Sam Neill is gone, but Alan too? Nope, as far as I’m concerned Alan and Ellie remain alive and well, and together, for many many years to come🦕❤️

@ShearedSheeple@Zach_Team Oh definitely, I realised that too, she’s 💯 ribbing him (lovingly of course). I just can’t believe for years I missed this funny moment as I (and it seems from the original post many others) misheard/misread it as coming from Lex.
Sam Neill died today and this clip broke me. 🦖
Jeff Goldblum, Sam, and Laura Dern reliving the chaos theory scene with that signature charm, soft hands talk, and pure magic. One final perfect Jurassic moment from an absolute legend.
RIP Dr. Alan Grant. What’s your all time favorite Sam Neill scene or memory? Share it below ❤️
