@MTWnhs Having finally got my nervous other half to go for breast screening, I have just been told I could not wait with her because I am a man. The letter said no children or dependents. This is blatant discrimination & means she will probably never submit herself to this again.
@Glinner Translation. We really wanted to fit you up but we got caught. We aren't sorry we tried, but the manner in which we tried was flawed and we promise not to do it again. Maybe. We'll see. Or think of something better.
@MCJPeel I get that our song was shit, but you get the feeling we could put up a band with Elton John, Ed Sheeran, Adele and Coldplay written by Paul McCartney and we’d still get nowhere.
@archer_rs Highly regarded & admired by whom? As DPP he set in motion facile policies at the CPS that led to a wholesale witch-hunt & moral panic against thousands of innocent people. He has no political sense or principles and is a manager not a leader. He is not the man to see off Farage.
Are all politicians like Steve Reed incapable of straight talking. FFS, man, call a spade a spade and answer the bloody question! You really think we’re all going to listen to your shit when we know Starmer is toast! #ForkedTongueWanker@Channel4News#Channel4News
HALF A MILLION PEOPLE WERE DEFRAUDED
Imagine you are behind on your store card payments. You are already struggling. Then the bank quietly adds an extra charge on top of what you owe. Not because it costs them that much. Just because .. they can. And because they think nobody is watching.
Someone was watching.
Nicholas Wilson was a debt recovery lawyer. He goes by Mr Ethical @nw_nicholas on X. His old boss meant it as an insult. In 2003 he noticed that @HSBC subsidiary HFC Bank was adding an illegal 16.4% charge onto the debts of people who were already in financial trouble.
Store cards from John Lewis, Currys, B&Q, Dixons, PC World. Ordinary people. Struggling people. Being quietly robbed.
He told his boss it was illegal. His boss started calling him "Mr Ethical" as a joke. Then they sacked him.
He reported it to the regulators. @TheFCA ignored him for years.
When a researcher separately wrote to both HSBC and the FCA asking about the fraud...
... both wrote back with responses in the exact same wording, same punctuation, same paragraphs. The bank and the regulator were sharing the same script.
FCA's own independent Complaints Commissioner eventually investigated. He called it the worst case of regulatory failure he had ever dealt with.
FCA's response was to appoint Ruth Kelly, an HSBC director, and Baroness Hogg from John Lewis, onto its own board. The two people they were supposed to be investigating were now sitting inside the regulator.
You actually cannot make this up.
After 13 years of Wilson refusing to go away, HSBC quietly agreed to pay some money back. FCA announced 6,700 victims.
Wilson says the real number is closer to 500,000. HSBC has now set aside £223 million for repayments. No fine. No criminal charges. No one went to prison. No one was even publicly named.
Wilson has spent the last 20 years unemployable. Blacklisted. Living on state benefits. Fighting to keep his home. Someone even anonymously reported him to the DWP for benefit fraud while the actual billion pound fraud went unpunished.
The bank that robbed half a million people kept its licence.
The man who caught them lost everything.

Oi, @Keir_Starmer - you want quick wins: @sewateruk have doubled our bills, we live in constant fear of losing our supply, we’ve suddenly got ‘hard’ water clogging up everything &the rivers & seas are full of shit. We can’t change suppliers, so just nationalise the bastards now.
The treatment of Ms Letby at work, the treatment of Ms Letby in the Witness Box, her particular plight now, all cry out for the backing of one of Britain' s most powerful voices.
Sir @Keir_Starmer has appointed @HarrietHarman as his Adviser on Women & Girls.
He has completely disregarded men & boys of this country.
• 84 men a week take their own lives
• 75% of all suicides are male
• 25% of men live with mental illness
• One man dies of prostate cancer every hour
For 28 years, we have had a Minister for Women, but who speaks for men?
Such advocate would complement - not compete with - efforts for women’s rights, ensuring best outcomes for all.
Action to address male-specific issues is long overdue.
That sack of shit Starmer with his cronies ruined my life. I’m so pleased that karma and the British people are finally catching up with the bastard. #StarmerOut
BREAKING 🚨
I understand that the Prime Minister is absolutely furious. He is extremely angry that no one told him that his neice is related to him
I understand he plans to sack Cabinet Secretary Antonia Romeo, unless she can find a Memo where she informed him
Troubled times
"His defence said he was 'unfairly accused' and the victim of an 'agenda'"
No doubt. Hope Christopher Trybus is able to put his life back together after this ordeal
Absolutely disgusting of accusers and prosecutors to vandalise memories in this way
@franticworry
Instead, they wanted a quick conviction and I was a handy patsy forced to spend over 17 years in prison for his horrific crime." https://t.co/ESXZjhqQ92
Church warden murder conviction quashed. How on earth could #BenjaminFields possibly get a fair retrial after the BBC made a drama about the case and the ‘murder porn’ industry has exploited the case endlessly. https://t.co/1lKk4R3uyx https://t.co/VGTsTDZmlo
Branded monsters. Public believed it. Years later… innocent. The Birmingham 6 showed how easily a narrative can take over. Once the media decides, people stop questioning. That’s why cases like Lucy Letby deserve scrutiny, not blind acceptance. #lucyletby#birminghamsix
