Not much happening down at this #FalseCreek work station next to @scienceworldca, but this big Heron seems to be minding the store and catching some sun.

Did you know our False Creek Neighbourhood Energy Utility (pictured) uses waste thermal energy captured from sewage to provide space heating and hot water to buildings in Southeast False Creek? (3/4)
This article misrepresents the Province’s sale of the north shore of False Creek. Due to the payment schedule, the actual price in 1988 dollars was $125M with a possible $20 bonus for extra density. The Province spent close to that to cleanup and contain the site’s contamination.
@VIAwesome The sixth thing you (probably) didn't know about #FalseCreek: On February 3, 1945 W.J. Beattie and J.W. Wakeford saw a 10-foot-long sea monster with an Airedale-like head that was hunting ducks. Similar animals were also spotted near Siwash Rock, in #BurrardInlet and Indian Arm.
@424ds @WaydeCompton@michellecyca The cost of the plan was certainly an issue, but like a third north shore crossing, it never really had significant support or groundswell to push it into likely action.
What an honour to recognize John and Jeff from @Aquabus with the Fire Chief’s Commendation.
They rescued two occupants from a boat fire on September 6, 2023 in False Creek.
Thank you for stepping up to help others!
