Disclosure.
When the police or the CPS fail to disclose they not only contribute to the innocent being convicted, they contribute to the guilty walking free. It undermines the entire CJS. When the failings in disclosure lead to appeals of the guilty remember that.
To sum up 2018 so far
The Director of the CPS is not having her contract extended and leaves in October
An independent report confirms it is standard practice for the police to withhold evidence (that may help the accused) and are trained to do so.
The major company dealing with criminal forensics (contracted out by the police / CPS) is being investigated for malpractice. There is evidence DNA has been tampered with and up to 5000 cases will now need to be looked into,
In a self-serving interview with Radio 4 yesterday, Saunders refused to show any contrition or offer any apology to those falsely accused men and women whose lives were ruined on her watch. https://t.co/5tPJWTGSXs
Good News Day! CPS boss Alison Saunders given the Order of the Boot and Met Police boss Cressida Dick forced to abandon "believe the victim" policy after a string of failures
Finally. Alison Saunders, head of the Crown Prosecution Service, to stand down after using that office to pursue personal agenda. Spate of shocking mis-trials for rape. Lives ruined.
What a terrible article I read this morning!
How do you expect a person who has beeen falsely accused to feel?
Do you expect some sort of angel to come down and say yes your innocent?
Or is it a case of guilty as soon as your accused ?
Why is this only reported in the lowbrow press?
Is wrongful imprisonment and a false accuser perverting the course of justice of no interest to the broadsheets?

@DannyShawBBC @BBCr4today recent #disclosure@cps@metpoliceuk
The cases Liam Allan; Samson Makele, Louis Richardson, Stephen Glascoe and Stephen Simmons - ALL innocent people whose lives have been destroyed by false allegations by this DPP - Alison Saunders - Time to quit..
The Media exclusive focus on "failure to disclose evidence in a timely way"
lets police and CPS off the hook.
Their refusal to investigate exculpatory evidence early on is torturing hundreds of innocent men every month.
@DannyShawBBC @BBCr4today Alison must be out of her mind to claim that sometimes a yes means https://t.co/yxRGSiR11v the hell is a man going to realise that yes means no it’s blooody bonkers
