Today is my final day working for @DrumsyOfficial as his creative producer.
Growing up, whenever I was struggling YouTube was the first place I went. The art I consumed on that site inspired me every single day, and deep down I wanted SO badly to be a part of the teams that made those videos. I never allowed myself to pursue it though. My family needed my support financially as soon as I graduated high school and trying to pursue an artistic career just wasn't viable.
A few years later, after graduating college, I finally had some free time to try making videos online. I had NO idea what I was doing, and anything I did outside of livestreaming flopped. I was pretty certain I'd never have success on YouTube, even though it was the thing that was always in the back of my head that I so badly wanted to be good at.
After banging my head against the wall streaming for almost 4 years, my friend @berrybebopboy told me that they'd heard Drumsy was looking for an "idea guy". I didn't think there was much of a chance due to my inexperience on the YouTube side of things, but I reached out regardless.
Fast forward 2 years and Drumsy and I have made some incredible things together. Videos that have reached millions of eyeballs, starting a new channel with @idiotpeach that is some of the most fun I've ever had recording, meeting almost every day, and doing genuinely, the coolest job on the planet together.
In this time Drumsy has not only treated me with respect, but has gone above and beyond to ensure that I was fulfilled both creatively and practically with my employment. He is, genuinely, one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, and it resonates to everyone who knows him.
It's really hard to step away as I pursue another opportunity, but I am forever grateful to Drumsy for being an amazing "boss", giving me a chance, and for being a fantastic friend.
Thanks for reading my sappy love letter to my buddy ok thanks bye
