@okinakutsu@AriKristenko Nope, it’s because the keeper is ahead of the ball. Offside rule has always been about two defending players. It’s just usually one of them is a goalkeeper.
@cryptoMorten@AriKristenko It’s not, it’s because the goalkeeper is in front of the ball. The offside rule has always been about two defending players, it’s just 99% of the time, one of them is the keeper.
@joeperry_10@ThatBoiRico That one’s pushing it. Barnes never changed allegiance even with the offer of World Cup football. There was zero chance he would inbetween.
@Killerj2013@rangersrabble They haven’t turned up for three tournaments under Clarke now. Isn’t it the managers job to get them to ‘turn up’? To set them up for success, to select his strongest players & tactics that deliver?
Clarke has to go, he’s failed in his objectives at this WC.
@PeterAdamSmith Bye bye Clarke, can’t be allowed to continue. Allow him to say his goodbyes on the plane & announce his sacking immediately after @ScottishFA , don’t take the fans for fools yet again.
@SPFL_Fitba_Fan The question of who comes in is one for the recruitment process. Clarke has to go, and anyone who thought it was a good idea to give him a four year deal should be away along side him.
@reachem@JamieBonkiewicz Nope, it’s just painfully obvious it’s a bit he does because he knows he needs gullible Christian’s onside.
He showed zero religious interest at all before choosing to run for president. Work it out for yourself.
@SPFL_Fitba_Fan There’s absolutely no way this is the strongest squad on paper. 😅
We drastically underperformed in the 60s & 70s by the quality of our players then. We used to be elite level.
Decades of @ScottishFA failure and the league governing bodies has undone all of that.
@shaunnery@SPFL_Fitba_Fan@ScottishFA This is the most frustrating thing for me. Every major tournament we have failed in (IMO in our history) and the SFA take no real action. Then & the @spfl have either no power or no backbone to stand upto the clubs.
Homegrown player rules should be the absolute minimal we have.
@craig1983s@BBCSport Nothing to do with when your games are played if you can’t score & you defend as we did.
If it was just a matter of better teams beating us at our best, fine. It wasn’t. It was poor tactics, poor squad selection, lack of composure & generally just making it easy for others.
@craig1983s@BBCSport Scotland should be good enough to make Morocco & Brazil work for a result. Any team in this WC can do that against top tier. We seen it tonight with Ecuador.
At their best, yes those teams beat Scotland. But they didn’t have to be anywhere near their best & they battered us.
@craig1983s@BBCSport I also think your second point is a bit of a red herring. Yes Morocco & Brazil are better than us, but should they be beating us at an absolute canter in second gear? No, they absolutely should not be. They didn’t have to work at it.
It’s not results, it’s the approach.
@craig1983s@BBCSport See who applies and make the decision based on that.
The outcome of his failures yet again at a major tournament should mean he loses his job. If I was incompetent in my job, I would lose it. They’d then recruit. Same should apply.
@OrneryJocko@northendsaint Then make them oppose it. The @ScottishFA & @spfl continue to be completely spineless on this.
Put it to a club vote & advise them to engage fans on how to vote. It’s likely it would be popular with football fans. If the clubs go against, it shows who’s holding us back.
@msm_monitor No less than they deserve for their grave incompetence. It’s the fans and only the fans I feel sorry for. The players and management team have yet again let the nation & themselves down badly.
@craig1983s@BBCSport They didn’t have to make it tough though. Both beat us in second gear. Almost every team in the tournament beats a team playing so poorly as we did over those three fixtures.
Clarke has to go.
