@diabeteseyedoc@BZInfoCoalition@MoogieMonsters you’re a diabetic eye doctor (which is awesome btw) did you know benzos absolutely cause posterior subcapsular cataracts and unresolvable destruction of meiboman glands, aka ocular toxicity, it’s devestating, not fear mongering! This has happened to me, both eyes. Digest this dr
@BMcB77437937 @wendyburn@recover2renew@HengartnerMP@medsconsult Precisely correct. So why do they continue AD prescribing and promoting it? It’s because they’d be out of jobs w/o it and they’d have to reflect on their legacy as treatment failure
@Fiddaman What does “on an individual basis” mean anyway, in this context ? Think she’s attempting to imply it seldom happens in the wide population but who knows? This woman is epitome of intransigence. She will go to her grave yelling, “but SSRIs work for some!”
@christyhuffMD@recover2renew I want to see every state medical board overwhelmed with “wtf, how can we handle all these benzo complaints?” enough folks in the community to make it happen. We will be rejected until it is no longer possible to reject. convinced there’s a long term victory with this route
@AllenFrancesMD I find myself agreeing with this guy’s little soundbites more often than not. But isn’t he part responsible for that DSM piece of directive destruction (for many) - have I got the right bloke or no?
@christyhuffMD@recover2renew Understand but if the Boards see extent of problem they may ultimately take a lead in issuing appropriate educational edicts. It remains your problem that docs didn’t know, however “nice” they were or are, is my view. My prescriber was a smashing chap but needs to be stopped
