Supermarket beers are in full crisis mode. ABVs are through the floor for tax purposes, glucose syrup, flavourings, and fermentation agents are being added everywhere. Nearly all foreign beers are now brewed in the UK. Completely different stuff to five years ago.
@daniel__crump Oh man… I’m going to have to visit for this! When we were kids, in Cumbria they used to have a local pop company - Marshs - that made “Sass”, a sasparilla flavoured fizzy drink. Totally unique and delicious, always a treat.
Having problems aligning my mung dal and basmati rice steaming times. Not sure I believe this @DrRayBakes recipe fully (though it is flippin’ delicious!). https://t.co/uAVx2hhBmU
@hannahinchesham @PaulMarchant11 It’s a gain, apparently, because it was Tory in the last *general* election. By elections aren’t reckoned as a basis for change (or lack of).
@fredsirieix1 Thank you Fred! There’s a major disagreement in our household re hot vs. cold custard. For me, HAS to be cold custard! Now I can say “Fred says it’s the right way” 😁
@PackedLunchC4 No. It can have the adverse effect and actually encourage more waste. Pile the food on the plate because you know you can charge an extra fiver in anticipation of it not being finished. Not good for the consumer, not good for food waste.
Not that I have an especial problem with vegans/vegetarians, but what do people think about the idea of a new takeaway service serving only animal-origin products? Thinking of calling it Just Meat.
Dear British Press,
There is nothing in Prince Harry’s autobiography as scandalous as the implosion of our NHS.
So please report on the things which are actually important
Thanks
