@TheMDTA Is there anyway the text message blast that we get for weather can be done for bridge closures? That way those of us trying to make a flight know ahead of time to go around and not across the Bay

The debate over ultra-processed foods is "absolutely" overblown and "ridiculous," epidemiologist Gideon Meyerowitz-Katz said.
"Most of what we measure when we talk about ultra-processed food is not the processing steps. It's not the number of steps it takes to go from field to plate," he told PBS News' @GeoffRBennett. "Instead, we measure sort of these vague concepts of how many ingredients a food has, how many things that you don't keep in your kitchen. But that's not what processing is."
"What we call ultra-processed foods today are mostly what my mum would refer to as 'junk food' in the ’90s," he later added.
Meyerowitz-Katz, creator of the "Health Nerd" blog, spoke to Geoff Bennett for PBS News' podcast, "Settle In." https://t.co/VQPfjhOgBr
Have you heard that U.S. crop yields are declining and our food supply is in danger from climate change? Good news: yields for staple crops like corn, wheat, soybeans, and potatoes are still increasing and show no signs of slowing down.

Why are wine grapes grown in certain regions? Climate, geography and soil each play a part and affect the flavor. But don't forget about demand! Thanks to strong local wine consumption and favorable growing conditions, wine grapes are a viable crop for Maryland farmers like Jennie Schmidt. #WomenFarmers #FarmFacts #WineDYK @FarmGirlJen
Plants can't just "grow" - they have to fight for it. Sunlight, water, nutrients - pests want them, too. Meet the wine grape farmer AND dietitian who explains why protecting her vines is the only way to help them turn sunshine into a glass of wine worth drinking. 🍷☀️ #WomenFarmers #FarmFacts #WineDYK
Drone spraying the vineyard for downy mildew. Think it does a good job with a canopy spray. Not convinced it would get good coverage on the fruit zone.
