This evidence will shape the improvements the Government will make with @UnicefB support. This is all the more important in climate vulnerable and rural communities. Let’s keep Bangladesh healthy!
Children need clean water, soap & functioning toilets to stay healthy, study well + live productive lives. That’s why @UNICEF partnered w/Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics to conduct a natnl assessment to evaluate WASH services across over 6,000 schools & 3,000+ health facilities.
Yudhishtir, 19: “Bangladesh is one of the most climate-vulnerable countries. I urge UNICEF to be the bridge to make our voices heard from grassroots to national level.”
Young people must be heard not just in consultations but in decision-making spaces, where policies are shaped.
Nayma, 24, said, "UNICEF can help by urging the Govt to raise awareness on climate risks & solutions, especially in vulnerable communities."
Her advocacy point is duly noted!
Importantly, the course will focus on girls, young people with disabilities, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Together, we’re committed to getting young people in Bangladesh learning and earning!
On #WorldYouthSkillsDay, I’m happy to represent @UNICEFBD to launch an exciting partnership with National University to better prepare young people for the job market. The 2022 Labour Force Survey showed 800,000 graduates unemployed. What a disappointment after yrs of study!
This partnership addresses that. With young people at its heart, the course will use modern teaching methods to nurture critical thinking & soft skills. And students will learn the language of technology so they’re job-ready.
Throughout UNICEF’s history, we have worked with our partners to uphold children’s rights, provide life-saving humanitarian aid, and advance children’s development and wellbeing. We’re not giving up — even in this tough funding climate. We’re here #ForEveryChild
Thank you @antonioguterres for your heartfelt appeal to the international community for Rohingya children who have already been through too much want, deprivation and insecurity: “Please give us the emergency funds that are necessary to avoid this tragedy .”
As @UN SG @antonioguterres said, there are already many cases of malnutrition in Rohingya Refugee Camps.
UNICEF is doing everything possible to meet the rising demand for life-saving nutrition treatment, but declining humanitarian funding is putting children's lives at risk.
What’s measured matters. If children are not counted in official data, they’re invisible in policy decisions that can lift their lives.
Happy to represent @UNICEFBD yesterday at the launch of the SDG Tracker to improve efficiency & strengthen coordination with the Government.
Today, @Rana4Unicef warned of a growing crisis for Rohingya children.
“In February this year, admissions for severe acute malnutrition surged by over 27% compared to the same month last year.”
We call on donors to support all vulnerable children. 🙏

Clean water to drink. Vaccines that save lives. Classrooms in which to learn. Nourishment for the hungry and sick. @UNICEF supports the world’s most vulnerable children. But we need to be fully funded to do so. We urge donors to continue their support for children 🙏
Funding cuts by numerous donor countries will limit UNICEF’s ability to reach millions of children in dire need.
UNICEF implores all donors to continue to fund critical aid programs for the world’s children.
We cannot fail them now.👇 https://t.co/rxdDZmkHEK
The opportunity to shape climate policies for children & young people, through the Nationally Determined Contributions, won’t happen for another 5yrs. That’s why the first ever NDC Youth Review could be a game changer for Bangladesh. This group 👇🏼are role models in the region.🩵
With support from @UNICEF, a youth-led organization to tackle climate crisis, Youth4NDCs, has launched the first-ever NDC Youth Review—a comprehensive review of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) through the eyes of youth.
Tackling the climate crisis is everybody’s responsibility. We owe it to the next generation. Great to see @UNICEFBD convening young people…listening to their bright ideas…and putting them at the heart of climate solutions. Together, we’re stronger #ForEveryChild
The launch event brought together UNICEF Representative to 🇧🇩 @Rana4UNICEF and changemakers from international development, academia, youth organizations, and the private sector—highlighting the incredible impact of youth-driven solutions in tackling the climate crisis!
“Because of the water, I couldn't go to my learning centre.”
When it floods, Tawhida, 10, Bangladesh, travels by boat to attend class.
Her dream? Becoming a doctor.
It’s time to climate-proof education, so children like Tawhida can realize their dreams.
#EducationDay
Floods, heatwaves, pollution, cyclones. More than a climate crisis, these events cost children their education. New data from @Unicef shows Bangladesh in the eye of the storm. 33 million children lost learning days in ’24. Leaders must safeguard children. Read more👇🏼@PiaBritto
33 Million.
That’s how many children had their schooling disrupted last year due to severe climate crises in Bangladesh.

Terrible news from Cox’s Bazar. Another child has died. In another fire. I can’t imagine the pain of the family. Condolences to them as they mourn. Grateful to our @UNICEFBD team & partners for swift action…mitigating trauma…and offering practical help. #ForEveryChild, safety
Another life of a child lost in yet another fire in the #Rohingya Refugee Camps. We send our deepest condolences to the affected family.
@UNICEF & partners are on the ground, assessing the extent of the damage & providing crucial support to the affected children & their families.
