I introduced my daughter (14) to the "A-Team" last year. Loved it! We watched all of them.
While she loved Rey in "Star Wars" she hated this girl. She kept saying, "Why is she even in this?"
Apparently she feels the same with George Peppard did, and she finally had to leave the show.
Someone posted about the hot device being put against the feet of a robot in ROTJ - which struck me as really dumb. It's a robot.
But that reminded me of one scene that cracked up even 7th-grade me in 1977.
Vader is telling the princess that he "vill make ther tock" and in comes this scary-looking hover droid looking thing. And what is that it is holding?
A hypodermic needle from 1965!
I know the audience needed the visual maybe, but come on! You have all this expensive special effects, and somebody runs down to the local hospital and gets a hypo from them to stick on this thing.
I can remember one woman saying very clearly, "Oh brother, that's worse than Star Trek."
@mcdev@agraybee What is even more ridiculous is that Lucas wrote the 'middle three' before that prequel crap - and STILL went with the story he used.
Star Wars was doomed when George got rich and stopped wanting to just tell a story.
Okay, to be pedantic for a moment (cause I don't care - and I know you really don't care either - and that's fine)
Droids can hear the 'language' mostly as subsonic or out of our hearing, while we can only hear the occasional sound that accompanies the 'speaking'
Yeah, that's the ticket!
I have never understood any of the controversy here. Greedo has a weapon on him. He tells him he's taking him to Jabba. And Greedo knows Han is also a pirate, so he's expecting him to be armed.
When Han shoots him, all I can think of is, Dude, how did you NOT see that coming.
Fair? No. Heroic? Nope.
As Jack Sparrow replies to "you cheated"
Pirates!
@WesleyHuntTX But, you are speaking sensibly about things that matter, with objective truth and opinions based on thought and experience.
How dare you, sir!
@MustangMan_TX I'm in - also just over 6 feet, but way, way over 200 pounds. Plus I'm over 60, so I know it will be tougher, but it won't get easier if I don't get started seriously.
i'm having to drop Dr. Pepper (and their stock will take a hit) and a lot more exercise and less eating.
@Protestia The Bible is 'triggering' to every human being that has ever lived or will ever live. It is the message from a Holy God that we are NOT holy, and He's taken steps to redeem us anyway. So, yeah, it's triggering all right.
@SevierlyBlessed Our daughter says "ore-a-gone-al" for "original.
When we would play with cards, she'd say, "Can I do the give you one, me one and you one."
I'd play cards with her just to hear that.
We still say that instead of "deal" in our house.
@ImJimR87 So true.
The same with McDonalds. Which is even crazier, because unless you just arrived on Earth a few minutes ago, you bloody well know what they have at McDonalds!
