@AdriWindGB Yes, but i think a good compromise if they aren't fully manual is how sonic horizons do it, its still a spline but you're in control. Project Hero (the classic sonic one) also has a more manual loop that works pretty well imo
@BladerLBM I would define exploration in games as kind of a big escape room. You have a defined route you have to take to beat the game, but you can go off the "intended" route to scavenge for clues, items, quests, shortcuts and more.
The act of finding hidden things can be fun for some
@AdriWindGB If Sonic is going to use "not sonic" things, at least mold it to be Sonic, not mold Sonic to not be Sonic. But, i have hopes for the next open-zone game, frontiers had potential, so i hope they can realize it this time
@AdriWindGB I wouldn't be so sad abt it if Sonic Team could use those trends to make something unique out of it. Take Darksiders for example, its mainly just zelda with CAG combat, but despite being derivative, it manages to be unique with its mixing and weirdness+
@ligadevera Mas tempo tbm é bom dependendo do jogo.
@ShiftMaster53 This is really a game that you must play time attack to really get the best of it. Some stages i didn't like before was elevated quite a lot for me
@AdriWindGB Not that they can't experiment, but i think classic sonic brings some expectation that modern sonic normally doesn't have since they experimented with him a lot over the years
@sonic7ischaos@AdriWindGB I think something like doom eternal with its lives could be something cool. It doesn't restart the checkpoint, but revives you to continue fighting
@AdriWindGB Colors ultimate unironically did a pretty interesting "life" system imo, being a chance to continue from where you left off instead of a checkpoint, its worthwhile to get and incentivizes good play. Origins did a clever solution as well.
@HollowLeif I think that if something like this returns, it should be things that don't fundamentally changes the game or its physics like air deceleration or bounce height at least. Maybe deleration on the ground like shadgens and thats it
