@RBReich Robert, you know precisely what’s going on here. As you know, Naomi Klein did an excellent job documenting the the rise & prevalence of “disaster capitalism” in her 2007 book, “The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism.” Her documentation is accurate & comprehensive.
@mloughlin@tribelaw 1) I'm afraid it's more than just a cult. Indeed, I think close to half of voting age Americans support racism, bigotry, and violence as the best way to solve problems. The fact that so many Americans support Trump gives an idea of how clueless most Americans are- compared
@mloughlin@tribelaw 4) People who believe that social justice, political integrity, economic fairness, knowledge, respect for science and the arts are more important than that are in a growing minority. America’s brief period of civility is coming to an end.
@mloughlin@tribelaw 3) They think that working (legally or illegally) and making money (legally, even if it involves lying, deceit, and the perpetration of misinformation- or by breaking the law is the most important human activity.
@mloughlin@tribelaw 2) Europeans, and Asians. It seems people from the Middle East, Latin America. and Africa consider racism, ethnic bigotry, corruption, and violence as "the way things are." We're discovering that Americans are more like that than not. Americans by enlarge are uncivilized.

@LakotaMan1 They can't do that. Such a case was heard by SCOTUS in 1967. (I forget the name). SCOTUS ruled against the school that required the boy to cut his hair.
@Dlw20161950@ericareport If you want the truth, you won't find it provided by Tucker Carlson or any of the Fox News personnel. They lie and distort in order to attempt to increase government oppression and promote a totalitarian regime. FCC should revoke Fox "News" license to broadcast.
@alisonlovestv 3) ACLU will help you with the cost. Millions of people like me donate money to them so that they can work to improve the lives of people like you whose lives are materially worse because of Republican-led government oppression. ACLU is all about ending government oppression.
@alisonlovestv 2) I think it's worth contacting the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) to bring this to their attention. It's a matter that they are concerned about. It would be worth considering a class action law suit against the Alabama congress. ACLU would probably like to take this on.
@alisonlovestv 1) Alison, it's good you put your devastating experience out there for others to read about. It makes me so angry how clueless and ignorant Republicans are about medicine. Normal discussion doesn't move them.
@EmptyChair209@ericareport 5) Obstructing justice like Trump repeatedly did is the typical practice of leaders who have subverted democracy and illegally usurped control to become tyrants. Hitler and Xi are two examples as are many past heads of state in Central and South American governments.
@EmptyChair209@ericareport 4) The simple fact that such documents were inadvertently moved is not a major issue. What is at issue is the level of cooperation each offending person offers to the investigation team. The degree of Trump's obstruction is potentially indictable.
@EmptyChair209@ericareport 3) In the cases of POTUS Biden and VPOTUS Pence, both men are cooperating fully with the investigating teams and are making all moved documents available to be reviewed. In the case of Trump- he obstructed a similar investigation.
@EmptyChair209@ericareport 2) When public officials change offices- including all presidents going back at least as far as George HW Bush in the 1980s it is typical that some classified documents get inadvertently moved from the old to new office.
@EmptyChair209@ericareport 1) Ignorance like yours is reprehensible! What you need to know is that classified information has several different levels or "degrees" of sensitivity and that many lower level classified documents are subject to classification.
