🚨 BREAKING:
Rock legend Roger Waters:
"Netanyahu, the end is near for you and people like you.
We are the majority, you are the minority. We will not move an inch. We will succeed."
“La Grange” - ZZ Top
The heartbeat of ZZ Top is gone. The man who made “La Grange” feel like a dirt-road chase.
Rest easy, Frank. The Texas rhythm section just got a whole lot quieter.
Into the distance, a ribbon of black
Stretched to the point of no turning back
A flight of fancy on a windswept field
Standing alone my senses reeled
A fatal attraction is holding me fast
How can I escape this irresistible grasp?
Can't keep my eyes from the circling sky
Tongue-tied and twisted
Just an earth-bound misfit, I
Ice is forming on the tips of my wings
Unheeded warnings, I thought, I thought of everything
No navigator to find my way home
Unladen empty and turned to stone
A soul in tension that's learning to fly
Condition grounded but determined to try
Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted
Just an earth-bound misfit, I

So, on the brake. Just be ready, it's gonna roll this time
Just feel the power gradually, and it
Above the planet on a wing and a prayer
My grubby halo, a vapour trail in the empty air
Across the clouds I see my shadow fly
Out of the corner of my watering eye
A dream unthreatened by the morning light
Could blow this soul right through the roof of the night
There's no sensation to compare with this
Suspended animation, a state of bliss
Can't keep my mind from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted
Just an earth-bound misfit, I
August 15 and 16, 1972. The band DEEP PURPLE performs live at the Festival Hall in Osaka, Japan. Part of these two concerts were recorded in audio, plus the one offered on the 17th of the same month at Budokan in Tokyo, for the recording of the famous album ''Made in Japan"
Welcome, my son, welcome to the machine
Where have you been?
It's alright we know where you've been
You've been in the pipeline
Filling in time
Provided with toys
And "Scouting for Boys"
You bought a guitar to punish your ma
You didn't like school
And you know you're nobody's fool
So, welcome to the machine
Welcome my son, welcome to the machine
What did you dream?
It's alright we told you what to dream
You dreamed of a big star
He played a mean guitar
He always ate in the Steak Bar
He loved to drive in his Jaguar
So, welcome to the machine

It was recorded in September 1971, months before the release of the album "Machine Head". Blackmore's solos and the lyrics differ from the final studio version, showing the band during the creative process.
One of rock's most bitter feuds just ended on stage.
Ritchie Blackmore hadn't played with Deep Purple since walking out in 1993, and he asked to come back for one song.
Last night at Jones Beach, at 81, he played "Smoke on the Water."
"I haven't played rock music in 25 years."

"If 6 Was 9" represented yet another bold creative leap forward for Jimi Hendrix. It was recorded over the course of two days (May 4-5, 1967) at Olympic Studios. "Section A" was the song's opening section while "Section B" began where the vocals come into form. The second half was also described as "Symphony Of Experience" on the tape box.
"I adore 'If 6 Was 9'," explained Hendrix. "That was a complete jam session, then we put the words on afterwards. That's me on flute. Gary Leeds and Graham Nash did some foot stomping, and that's (Chas) Chandler's big feet on the fade-out. 'If 6 Was 9' is what you call a great feeling of blues."
Featured on The Experience's sophomore album AXIS: BOLD AS LOVE, the track was also prominently featured in the 1969 film and soundtrack for EASY RIDER.
