Vince Young explains his parenting style and why he refuses to turn his son’s football career into an extension of his own
“I don’t get involved with the coaching stuff. I help out. I go throw the ball to him. Point out little small things that I feel like he can fix.”
“Me, I’m more so like loving him. ‘I’m proud of you, son.’ I’m a fan.”
“I’m going to watch my son, man. I’m just proud of him.”
“I didn’t have my dad around. He was in and out of jail. I had to depend on guys like TJ’s dad… And my other teammates’ dads… To tell me they were proud of me.”
“When I’m around my kids… I want them to know… ‘I love you.’ I’m not on your ass… Telling you what you can do better. I’m not yelling at you.”
“You’re going to make mistakes… But let’s fix it together.”
“Me and my son and daughter… We go to therapy together. They hear me talk to the therapist… And vent out what’s bothering me… Then he and she can feel comfortable doing the same thing.”
Forgot to mention that I got the Romeo look from my goat @G5Jake

Courtney and Bob Welton just told y'all on signing day that they have a plan: wish players well when they leave, thank them for their service, and get ready to embrace the ones who are still wearing the crimson. #RollTide
