Children aged 6–12 need 9–12 hours of sleep, & teenagers need 8–10 hours daily. Insufficient sleep is linked to poor attention, learning problems, obesity, diabetes, depression, & even suicidal thoughts (American Academy of Sleep Medicine, 2016).
