Ibn Taymīyyāh رحمه الله said:
“Allāh and his Messenger ﷺ have forbidden sadness, for it brings neither benefit nor deters any harm, so there is no benefit in it, and Allāh does not command that which has no benefit”

It's heartbreaking to see my neighborhood n even the local mosques decorated with lights, loud naat music played on DJs, fairs n festivities, all in the name of celebrating Mawlid. The level of ignorance is painful to witness.
May Allah guide them to the truth. Ameen.
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
"I will remain patient in order to please You (Oh Allah), even though my sorrow kills me.
It suffices me that You are pleased, even though my patience kills me."

Umar ibn Abd’ul Azizz رحمه الله said:
I don’t want the pain of death to be easy for me,
because it’s the last chance for a Muslim to expiate his sins.

The loneliness that keeps you away from the haram of this world is far better than having people in your life who make you miserable and take you away from Allah.
Mu’tamir bin Sulaiman رحمه الله narrates:
I entered upon my father, and I was heartbroken.
He said, “What is with you?”
I said, “My friend died.”
He said, “Did he die upon the Sunnah?”
I said, “Yes.”
He said, “Then do not fear for him.”
