This video from the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq says it all.

A soldier tells an Iraqi child serving him tea, “I’d k*ll you if you didn’t have this.” The soldier then proceeds to humiliate what appears to be the child’s father, cursing at him profusely and telling him, “Don’t interrupt me.”

For the occupying American soldier, this may have been a joke. But for the more than a million Iraqis k*lled, and more than 9 million displaced and whose lives were devastated by George W. Bush’s war, it was not.

With its wars against Iraq in 1991 and 2003, the U.S. military ultimately transformed what had been a relatively stable nation in West Asia into a landscape marked by sectarian conflict and takfiri extremism and created the conditions that ultimately gave rise to the extremist militant group ISIS.

This is what occupation and colonial violence leaves behind, even when the headlines describe it as "liberation."

Very interestingly, as I wrote in chapter 13 of my book on economic asymmetrical warfare—citing Iranian academics—this war shows that Iran has successfully implemented a network of parallel, decentralized refineries and economic infrastructure across the country as part of its resistance economy in preparation for wartime.

When I first read those articles and cited them in my book, I honestly thought they were merely theoretical ideas that would never actually be implemented. Now, seeing Iranian analysts explain how attacks on the electricity grid will not paralyze the nation thanks to this decentralization and independent logistics, I’m genuinely glad they turned those plans into reality.

It is no longer hidden from anyone that there exists a dangerous American-Israeli project — Greater Israel — founded on occupation and expansion from the Euphrates to the Nile, including Lebanon. The Israeli-American aggression against Lebanon did not stop on 27/11/2024, and the Israeli enemy did not honor the agreement; rather, it continued its aggression uninterrupted for fifteen months.

It has become clear that we face two choices: either surrender and relinquish the land, dignity, sovereignty, and the future of our generations — or inevitable confrontation and resistance to the occupation to prevent it from achieving its goals. The timing was chosen by the Resistance to respond to the aggression and defend Lebanon, thereby denying the Israeli enemy the opportunity to surprise us and preventing it from singling out Lebanon. It has also demolished all claims of pretexts, for a missile salvo does not warrant a war — and in any case, pretexts are meaningless when aggression has continued for fifteen months.

The Resistance has prepared the appropriate means, proven its effectiveness and worthiness, and the self-sacrificing mujahid youth have presented the most magnificent epics of heroism, honor, patriotism, and dignity. They are determined to continue without limit and prepared to sacrifice without bounds. They are now a radiant symbol of patriotism and the light of the coming liberation.

As for the people of the Resistance — they are the most honorable and noble on the face of the earth. They were displaced as a contribution to the struggle, endured as those who sacrifice and resist, offered their dearest ones with pride and acceptance, and suffered far from their homes and normal lives — the greatest of suffering — in order to build a free and honorable future for their homeland and children.

Aggression is the problem and the danger; the Resistance is the hope and the liberation.

The responsibility of confronting aggression is a national responsibility for all — government, people, army, forces, sects, parties, and every citizen. The Israeli-American aggression seeks to strip Lebanon of its strength, control its policies, and determine the future of its children. It seeks to rob Lebanon of its sovereignty and independence through its demands to sow strife and internal conflict, to legitimize the Israeli occupation, and to prevent the army from arming itself and defending the homeland — and the response is a national duty.

When the exclusive monopoly of arms is raised in response to Israel's demand while the occupation and aggression continue, it is a step on the road to Lebanon's demise and the realization of the dream of Greater Israel. And when negotiation with the Israeli enemy under fire is proposed, it amounts to the imposition of surrender and the stripping of all of Lebanon's capabilities — beyond the fact that negotiation is fundamentally rejected with an enemy that occupies the land and commits daily aggression.

There is no war being fought by others on Lebanese soil — it is Israel's and America's war against Lebanon, met by the defense of the Resistance, the people, the army, the honorable, the patriots, and all forces who believe in Lebanon's independence and liberation.

We are in a defensive battle for Lebanon and its citizens. Those who are martyred are the finest men, youth, women, and children of our homeland, and what we are liberating is the land of our homeland, Lebanon.

We call for national unity against the Israeli-American enemy, under a single banner at this stage: **Stop the aggression to liberate the land and the people.** All other matters are open for discussion thereafter.

- National unity will make our enemy despair of occupying our country.
- National unity will enable us to pass through this painful phase with solidarity and mutual support, helping us to build our country together.
- National unity means that the government must not take decisions that serve the Israeli project — even if unintentionally — when the outcome benefits Israel.
- National unity means that the government must reverse its decision to criminalize resistance activity and those who carry it out.

We call for national unity for the sake of all of us. Together we become stronger, and together we shorten the duration of the aggression.

Look at the Israeli-American aggression against Lebanon: it kills civilians, destroys buildings, displaces villages and towns, works to annihilate crops and generations — and yet it is cowardly in the face of the valiant fighters of the Resistance.

This Resistance will not be defeated, nor will its people, citizens, and the honorable in our country. We are reassured and confident that we will not be defeated, whatever the sacrifices may be. God Almighty said: *"And We wished to bestow favor upon those who were oppressed in the land, and to make them leaders, and to make them the inheritors."*

As for what is unfolding in the Islamic Republic of Iran's confrontation with global American-Israeli aggression, it is a lesson to be heeded. Iran has stood firm against the most hardened, criminal, and savage forces on earth, and it shall prevail, God willing. Know that every victory against America and Israel brings good that benefits all: *"And victory is not except from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."*
