David Ben-Gurion (née Grün), Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, and later Israel’s first prime minister, was more blunt. In a 1937 letter to his son, he wrote: “We must expel the Arabs and take their place”.
Daniel Levy on Zionist abuse of antisemitism.
"Israel has tried to fuel this attempt to define antisemitism in a way which basically criminalises criticism of Israeli policies."
Welcoming a new set of haters to my page today :)
Here is your weekly reminder that anti-Zionism is not antisemitism. And Israel is guilty of apartheid and genocide.

Two years ago today, the world lost a true giant:
“Let’s send a message to governments, that a critical mass of people want to see an end to occupation of Palestine and oppression of its people.
By acting together we can break cycles of injustice, end the occupation and build a new world based on our common humanity and justice.
Support Freedom for Palestine.”

I signed this text with over 100 friends and colleagues, as a reaction to the attacks on Professor Didier Fassin of Princeton’s Institute for Advanced Studies and the College de France.
We should all protect academic freedom and reject the New McCarthyism https://t.co/FnNlG2xj5Q
"Lets stop and think about what we're seeing. 49 innocent people who were killed by a Russian airstrike while they were shopping for food.. its horrifying.. this is why we're doing everything that we can.. to help the brave people of Ukraine fight for their freedom"
this is what indiscriminate, uninhibited carpet bombing looks like... and some of you still think its controversial to call for an immediate end to this horror. we are living in the upside-down of history.
December Colloquium | Waqf: Muslim Civil Society vs. the Nation-state
Civil society organizations played a key role in Islamic political history vis-à-vis the central ruling authority, providing essential services to the public and sometimes acting to check and balance the power of the ruler. However, with the establishment and expansion of the modern nation-state, the role of civil society in the Muslim world – especially the Islamic endowments or Waqf - has significantly shrunk and mostly come under the control of the state. Dr. Riham Khafagy, Assistant Professor at the College of Humanities and Social Science, Zayed University, UAE, will help us unpack the tension between the nation-state and the Muslim civil society, and explore the future prospects of developing the Waqf to reclaim its historical role in strengthening and uniting the Muslim Umma.
Dr. Khafagy is the author of several publications on the role of Waqf and civil society organizations in the Muslim world and the West. Her most recent book is entitled “The Western Civil Society Organizations…Messengers of Values: Domestic and International Roles.” She was honored by the Kuwaiti Awqaf General Foundation for her contributions to Waqf studies.
The discussion and Q&A session will be moderated by Dr. Usaama al-Azami.
Mark your calendars: Saturday, December 30th, at 11 AM ET.

You have to laugh or you cry. An international coalition to protect shipping but not to protect civilians who are actually being massacred in the thousands. 😭
