Please pray for all priests who are moving to new assignments today. The fifth pastor of @FatimaRenfrew departs to become the fifth pastor of @LourdesPembroke.
May our Blessed Mother guide all of our footsteps to deeper friendship with the Risen Christ.
All are welcome to join as we pray the "Novena in Preparation for the School Year" beginning this Monday, August 31st. Let us pray together for the safety and wellbeing of all students, teachers and staff!

@MichaelAlfredSm Mrs Doan and her family are the most lovely and kind people. It is unthinkable to hear this news. Please convey to her our sincerest regards and prayers.
Let's also be deliberate in speaking our teenagers about the Christian virtues of respect, charity and the dignity of all.
The memorial of St Augustine reminds us that "every saint has a past and every sinner has a future."
A sacristy window at Mt St Patrick shows a heart, echoing St Augustine's words "You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you."
'Those of them who knew her praised you, honoured you, and loved you in her, for they could feel your presence in her heart and her holy conversation gave rich proof of it.'
St Augustine writing about St Monica in his Confessions
Today on the feast of St. Monica, #PopeFrancis visited the Basilica of St. Augustine in #Rome to pray in the chapel dedicated to the saint's mother, whose tomb is inside this church.

When Cardinal Sarto was elected Pope Pius X in 1903 he already had his return train ticket to Venice in his pocket. God allowed this saintly pope to call the Church to pastoral and spiritual reforms by seeking to "restore all things in Christ".
St Pius X, pray for us!
Happy solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary -- "the Easter of summer"!
"For today the Virgin Mother of God
was assumed into heaven
as the beginning and image
of your Church’s coming to perfection
and a sign of sure hope and comfort to your pilgrim people"
St Maximilian Kolbe, a Polish Franciscan priest, promoted devotion to the Mother of God. During WWII he helped hide and protect 2000 Jews. Captured and put into Auschwitz he volunteered to die in place of a man who had wife and children. He is a "martyr of charity".
A significant thing I can do right now is to remain calm in the middle of the chaos, to remain rooted in the Lord and not lose inner peace, to trust that God is working His purpose out, to know that all is well because God’s love never fails.
The feast of St Lawrence, an early Roman deacon and martyr, shows us a love that is willing to die as Christ did.
Let us pray in a special way today for all deacons of the Church and those whom they serve.
August 9 is the liturgical commemoration of the 1907 dedication of the Cathedral of St Columbkille, patron of the Diocese of Pembroke. A cathedral is the mother church of the diocese as it holds the cathedra (chair) of the bishop of a local Church.
Most Rev Guy Desrochers has announced the appointment of Rev G.R. Holly as Chancellor of the Diocese of Pembroke as well as Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Pembroke, LaPasse & Westmeath.
Rev. John Lacey is appointed as new Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima and Mount St Patrick.
On the memorial of the Saints Joachim and Anne, Jesus's “grandparents”, I would like to invite young people to do something tender towards the elderly, especially the loneliest, in their homes or residences. Dear young people, each elderly person is your grandparent!
While we miss @CormacStAnn Pilgrimage this year, recall that we are pilgrims on the way to eternal life.
St Ann, we implore thee
to list to our pray'r,
In time of temptation,
take us in thy care.
Obtain for us now
that which is best,
And bring us at length
to our heavenly rest.
