World Biomedical Laboratory Science Day 2023
Every day, literally every second, a Medical Laboratory Scientist is performing a medical laboratory procedure, testing a wide range of human samples to ensure the arrival of an accurate diagnosis & management of patients' sicknesses.
If you live through life without the regular nawaafil prayers...
without witr, without dhuha, without reciting even a portion of the Qur’an daily, without morning and evening adhkār…
without seeking knowledge, voluntary fasting, voluntary sadaqah (charity), or any deeds that earns you the love of Allah...
then don’t be surprised if you lose happiness and peace in this life, and don’t be surprised if you stand empty-handed in the akhirah.
Allah rises people through different doors:
One through the gate of fasting, another through salah, another through charity, another through maintaining family ties, and another through striving in Allah’s cause.
The voluntary acts of worship build your rank in this world, in the loneliness of the grave, and in jannah.
Hold firmly to these acts. They are your stored treasures for this world and the hereafter.
A Cesarean section is the only major surgery in the world where:
Five to seven layers of tissue — skin, fat, fascia, muscle, and uterus — are carefully opened.
And A new life is lifted into the world — sometimes urgently, sometimes unexpectedly.
And within hours, the mother is told to stand, walk, and care for her newborn.
Six hours after surgery where stitches, staples, and deep incisions still burn — she is expected to:
Feed her baby
Change diapers
Bond through exhaustion
Sit up despite intense abdominal pain
And while healing, her body still goes through:
Contractions as the uterus shrinks back
Hormonal surges
Breast milk production
Emotional turbulence
Sleepless nights
Yet she keeps going — even when:
Laughing hurts
Sneezing hurts
Standing hurts
Sleeping hurts
Breathing hurts
Still… she does it.
Not because it’s easy.
Not because she feels ready.
But because her baby needs her.
And that — is strength.
To every C-section mom reading this:
You didn’t take the “easy way.”
You took the necessary way.
You chose life, safety, and love.
Your scar is not a mark of weakness —
✨ It is a silent badge of courage. ✨
Whether planned, emergency, or after hours of labor —
you brought a life into this world with bravery few will ever understand.
So hold your head high.
Rest when you need to.
Heal at your own pace.
And never forget:
You are strong.
You are enough.
You are a warrior.

Earlier today at ASFAAR Nigeria, I participated in the Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and Healthy Lifestyle program, facilitated by the Save Accident Victims Association of Nigeria (SAVAN) in partnership with ASK Medical and Diagnostics.
It was a truly fantastic and insightful experience that equipped us with practical knowledge and life-saving skills.
A big thank you to the facilitators for their dedication, and a special appreciation to ASK Medical for providing this wonderful opportunity.
In every crisis, we show up. In every shift, we give our best.
Happy Workers’ Day to fellow medical warriors!
One love!🫶❤️👩🔬🧪🦠❤️
