The situation is now beyond critical. Children lack milk, livestock are dying, and families are suffering. I humbly appeal to the national government to urgently scale up drought response more food, more water trucking, more cash transfers, and faster release of funds to counties

Today I visited Sarman Ward in Tarbaj, Wajir County to lead food distribution for women and persons living with disabilities — among the groups hardest hit by the ongoing drought across Wajir, Garissa, Mandera and other arid counties.

Together with PS Ismail Maalim Madey (Special Programmes) and PS Ahmed Abdisalan (NG Coordination), we delivered food items to hundreds of families and listened to mothers, grandmothers and caregivers share their daily struggles.
