@Charles06656619@MrJeremyTurner@KyleKulinski It's truly sad how few people can grasp the concept. Most people have ridiculous beliefs like that jobs are good for the economy. Productivity is good, and work is often necessary, but that doesn't make it good. The more jobs we can abolish via technology the better.
@MrJeremyTurner@KyleKulinski Even that still wouldn't be hoarding wealth. Money isn't wealth, it's an IOU. If he spent all his wealth on personal luxery, at best you could argue that he contributed slightly less than he reaped. But he lives in a 400 sqft house. All he's done is contribute.
@KyleKulinski You don't understand the difference between wealth and money. They're not the same, one could argue they're actually opposites. If he liquidated all his stock and gave it all away it wouldn't increase the world's wealth whatsoever anymore than printing a dollar generates wealth.
@shanedk@elonmusk Yeah, I wonder how the diehard leftists reconcile the fact that his house cost about $50k. Clearly he isn't in it for personal luxury.
@MentisWave Giving everyone $100 would have practically no impact on the world since it wouldn't change how much stuff is in the world.
Number 2 obviously benefits the world as he has a proven track record of directing resources toward their most productive uses.
@earnlearninvest@SelfMadeMastery If someone showed you a fusion reactor that fits in a brief case that has been powering their house for a year, you'd scoff about how much more it cost them to invent that what they saved on electricity over the last year.
@SelfMadeMastery Absolutely. Everyone grossly underestimates the value of of the company. SpaceX has a HUGE lead ahead of every other launch provider on the planet and the true revenue stream hasn't even begun to be tapped. You have no idea how much wealth will be unlocked by cheap access to LEO.
@gatsby_grate@ClimateWarrior7 Exactly. The maximal utility a person like that can achieve is to apply himself toward directing labor resources toward their most productive use and never stop growing his companies reinvesting all the profit toward growing the companies ad infinitum.
@GunnelsWarren Blame the policies that limit supply. Certificate of need laws, licensing requirements, anti-fossil fuel lobbying, etc.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.
@SFWsalesgirl And how does his wealth, which is almost entirely unrealized stock assets, made anyone else poorer? You don't even realize you don't understand what wealth is. You think you do, but you don't. You think wealth is money. You think stock is money. You think he's motivated by greed.
@steinkobbe@DJSnM@elonmusk@SpaceX Defamatory accusations take forever to debunk. And even if I did you would just bring up some other nonsense to debunk. Some rumor you heard. Elon Musk does not believe Tommy Robinson is a nazi. At best you only raise a point about Musk's judgment of Robinson's character.
@steinkobbe@DJSnM@elonmusk@SpaceX You're deflecting to a whole other issue that would take a long time to unpack. Long story short, you have an extremely distorted impression of the facts, but I'm not going to entertain your red herring.
