@genderedpose ...and producers were all white. In this case, Pose gives the LGBTQ community the rightful representation while the idea was actually created and produced by LGBTQ members. The show is changing the television industry and making history at the 2019 Emmys for the representation!
@JasonRu95368903@genderedpose I agree!! But I found this article from Bustle that disagrees and says we should stop using this word entirely! Here's a quick snippet, "...when you use the word "bitch" as an insult, you are quite specifically perpetuating a culture of gender oppression." https://t.co/UauOJA4oLN

This is what people are saying a "bad bitch" means when using this vernacular. Should we continue to use this word even though it can still be used as a derogatory term against women?
@genderedpose What does everyone think about the term "bitch"? Usually it's an insult against females used by men and women, but women are now using it as a word of empowerment, like describing a woman as a "bad bitch" is actually a good thing. Should we just toss out the word completely?
@FauciMurphy@genderedpose It is definitely so important to acknowledge the victim and their story. The trans murder/suicide rate is much higher than in other communities. This article has a short biography of all 18 victims.

@genderedpose Two transgender women were recently killed in the span of one week, and 18 transgender people have been killed this year. Some people are responding saying that murder is murder no matter the victim. Why is it important to acknowledge who the victim was? https://t.co/Wc3vmyjkLb
@kaitlynliu19@genderedpose A huge theme in this show is having power and confidence. I agree that fabulousness is just as important as fierceness to the LGBTQ+ community, but the vibes I receive the most when watching them perform in the balls are about intensity. Therefore making ferocity the better pick
@mikeh53049223@genderedpose Especially within this show, the characters think that the ability to "pass" as cisgender is the highest achievement. They wish to hide their true identity as a transgender, which then just comes across as internalized transphobia.
