Liberalism is so depleted it’s insane. No ambition, no new answers, no adjustments. Just 1992 forever. A Clintonite infinity. We must imagine Sisyphus balancing the budget.
more than one hundred years ago a young man named Upton Sinclair, living in a small cabin about two miles from this house, on Rosedale Rd., Princeton, wrote a novel exposing the unspeakably filthy conditions of meat-packing in Chicago, titled "The Jungle." President Teddy Roosevelt read the novel, his stomach (which was considerable) was turned, he called Sinclair to the White House, & soon thereafter laws were passed to regulate (to some degree) the meat-packing industry.
Today we don't have a US president who can read, let alone read an entire novel; we have a US president who has deregulated industries that provide food & medicine for us, to our detriment.
The way they treated Biden vs. the way they are covering Mitch McConnell is INSANE. There is a legit full fledged coverup going on with Mitch.
And Jake Tapper dgaf.
I know I keep saying it but it’s genuinely incredible that centrists will acknowledge the Democratic Party is extremely unpopular and yet their big solution is to do the exact same things and elect the same exact people
No group of people have done more to stop things from getting done than the Bipartisan Problem Solving Centrists, who tanked Obama’s agenda and then tanked Biden’s agenda over purity tests while leftists fought to get the best out of both in spite of ideological disagreement.
They shot him, dragged his lifeless body onto the pavement, and handcuffed his corpse while his 3-year old daughter wearing Bluey pajamas watched in horror. If you say you voted for this you are an empty soulless vessel.
This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days.
ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.
It's the DOGE cuts! Typically the CDC works hand in glove with the FDA and USDA and traces this stuff in a matter of days. But all those people are gone.
Like Cuomo? Swalwell? I think the biggest issue here is this is now the second time (in as many years) Democrats are considering changing out the candidate voters picked after clearing the field and having it backfire. It’s a concerning trend no matter how valid the reasons.
It’s also important to remember that Platner would’ve never had a chance if the field wasn’t cleared for Mills. Now we’re stuck trying to figure out what to do because the Senate is at stake.
Either way, hope folks now see why some of us were more hesitant to jump on the Platner bandwagon and hope the folks who’ve created the conditions for these insurgent campaigns learn why this is happening.
Nope! I always say there is no such thing as self-made. It’s a myth.
It took millions of people - from my parents to mentors to friends to competitors to fans and voters - to write my success story. I did not write it alone.
That’s the American Dream - not a lie about going it alone - but the truth that none of us do, and there is always someone with their hand out to lift us up.
I sincerely do not mean this as a slight, but at some level Ossoff is benefiting from being intelligent, a pretty good public speaker, and younger than 70 years old
