Just back from a nice sunny trip to St. Abbs Head.
Saw a lovely stonechat on a fence, with razorbills, kittiwakes, guillemots and gannets all crowding together on the cliffs.
@KittiwakesTyne @birdinglothian Yes, I would be very pleased for you to use my photos. I will have a look at your website. Thank you for getting in touch.
Dunbar: Pleased to see the Red-backed Shrike still at JMCP. A bit too distant for my camera at first, but as the rain got heavier the shrike came nearer! @birdinglothian
Pleased to see the Snow Bunting along the Dunbar cliff top. First seen down on a rock, soon after I almost walked on it just off the path. It seemed very tame. @birdinglothian
Just back from Estonia with friends from @RSPBEdinburghLG and @travel_wildlife. Lovely countryside with lots of migrating cranes and sea ducks, but the highlight was a night in a bear hide. Great views of a mother and two cubs, briefly joined by a second bear with two cubs.
Belhaven: At Seafield Pond this afternoon I saw three Little Egrets and a Heron. As I walked further on I met a lady who asked if I’d seen the Pochard and Mandarin Ducks. Thank you, I’d not seen them. They were lovely. Two Pochard and two female Mandarin Ducks.
John Muir Country Park. Well worth a walk to the spit and tern fence this afternoon. A large number of terns and waders: sandwich and common terns, oystercatchers, ringed plovers, dunlin. Also diving gannets.
