I unloaded the kiln this week with some fun results. This billowing bowl with its textured exterior was a happy result. The glaze has had a bit of a party too which I love. Made to be a sculptural piece rather than a functional one. #ceramicsculpture #clayart

The piece is finally complete. She has dried out steadily. I’ve checked that the inside smooth and that all those little gaps have a nice clean finish to them. Now she will have to wait patiently for my next body of clay work to be ready to go in the kiln. #clayart #ceramics

Leaf by leaf this piece has grown this week. It’s a slow process but an exciting one…working from the base upwards the piece begins to develop. I need patience and to work steadily, but nothing can contain my excitement about seeing the form complete. #makingprocess #clayleaves

This bowl is a bit different to my usual “billowing” pieces, with their frayed edges. It’s quite simplistic, but I like the way a different edge gives a different feel … calmer perhaps!? #Edge #winds #form #ceramics

We were able to have a wonderful break in Paxos last week to celebrate my 50th. So fantastic having time with my amazing husband mooching around at a slow pace. Swimming like a water baby… in the hopes it would compensate for all that feta and moussaka I’d consumed!

Yesterday was a good day. Unloading a kiln, & I began making a group of leafy vessel, with the help of this addisons studio dog who barks at me regularly for treats! But she’s so beautiful I have to forgive her, besides it can’t be nice feeling hungry all the time!#dogsoftwitter
