@HMRC customs duties levied on gifts to individuals are ‘meant to protect local industries’. So why does the private recipient of an item which is not available in their own country have to pay a levy to ‘protect’ a local business which doesn’t offer the same product?

@deepblue27 Fortunately I side stepped to a new boss who, once I started hormone treatment which plummeted me into the menopause, told me to take leave and he’d replace me with a temp but keep my job for me when I recovered. That was a gem of a man 💎
