Malik Naseer is a respected Pashtun tribal elder and activist who co-led the Pashtun National Jirga (Khyber Jirga) last October to discuss Pashtun autonomy and human rights.

In late 2024, he was arrested, which sparked protests and international condemnation, making him a potent symbol of Pashtun resistance against systemic oppression.

On 30th June 2025, he was released from Attock Jail, but then taken to an unknown location by plain-clothed individuals and police. To date, there is no information about where Malik Naseer is being held.

No FIR has been presented, nor has he been brought into public view. If there are indeed charges against him, then he should be presented in court in accordance with Article 10(2) of the Constitution of Pakistan, which requires that any detained individual be produced before a magistrate within 24 hours
