@EndgameaiChess In the last 4 editions (2022-2025), Magnus won 7 of the 8 world Rapid/Blitz Championships. Tournaments with 150 players and all (or almost all) elite players in the world. A single bad month and everyone is ready to call him out, insane
@anishgiri Erwin L'Ami is a great commentator i have to say. Also without engines his evaluations of the positions are extremely good (ok maybe should be considered normal for a 2600 GM but still)
@Vachier_Lagrave Looks a great idea. Also the ranking, instead of an elo that rewards inactivity, could be based on the result of these tournaments (final x points, semifinal y points etc, ofc adjustment on the rating of partecipants, similar to fide circuit scores)
@2700chess@ReykjavikOpen In my opinion, Fischer Candidates in 1971 should be included. Even if it was based on matches, still it is a unique tournament. 18.5 - 2.5 against Taimanov, Larsen, Petrosian. Insane. Assuming his opponents were around 2640, it is 2975 in 1971, ridicoulous
@FIDE_chess Rating decay and number games to be considered active raised to at least X (e.g. 20): two things that fide said its already working on, would have prevented this situation
