A frequent complaint by Republicans is "If they can go after President Trump, they can go after you."

But that is a disingenuous notion at best, because MOST Americans aren't paying off porn stars, obstructing justice, extorting world leaders, stealing classified information, election fraud, witness intimidation, and inciting insurrection.

Most Americans, if they had committed only one of the aforementioned offenses, would have been quickly dealt with by law enforcement officials. In fact, hundreds have already been convicted in the January 6th ongoing investigation for the crime of being persuaded by Trump to go to the Capitol.

If anything, the fact that Donald Trump has not yet been indicted, arrested, and convicted for the number of provable offenses is proof that he has been given a different standard of accountability than most Americans.
