Someone killed 14 children and 1 teacher at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX. I’m wholly devastated.
We live in a society where power absolutely refuses to protect our children. How many more kids have to die before power makes radical changes to these horrific conditions?
Today we begin the celebration of National Black History Month. February is an opportunity for us to share the stories of endurance, strength, and Black excellence. Let us celebrate our history in full and rededicate ourselves to freedom, justice, and opportunity for all.
Congratulations to my summer scholar and AAETE Wilmington graduate, @FeldmannMikaela, for a job well done at this year's undergraduate research symposium! I look forward to next year's summer scholar building on this summer's reading research and instruction. @UDCEHD@UDAAProgram
Using the interactive programming tool Scratch has been an educationally rewarding experience. I plan on using it in my future classroom. Students can make their own games, art, animations, and more through coding that they practice and learn. #ScratchEdu#edtech#EDUC387710
Participating in Hour of Code has been an engaging tool for practicing code, & thinking computationally. The program offers curriculum for grade levels, and is fun for students. This will help utilize technology to the best of their ability. #hourofcode#edtech#EDUC387710
Natural materials such as leaves, rocks, sticks, and bugs provoke kids' curiosity and can give them ideas for creating stories.

"[A]sk children, what kind of person do you want to be? And what are all the different things you like to do? Instead of trying to narrow their options, help them broaden their possibilities." #EWOpinion https://t.co/nf7A0Zz59v
In class, we created concept maps using @poppletapp to help students organize their thinking after reading a literature text. My concept map is on the book A Different Pond by Bao Phi. #conceptmap#adifferentpond#EDUC387710
In class, we created virtual field trips using @googleearth . This is a great way to explore and learn about different places around the world without leaving home. I created mine featuring landmarks of the Basilicata region of Italy. #EDUC387710
Educators have the responsibility of ensuring that students are using the Internet safely. Being a good digital citizen means not giving out any personal information, reporting cyberbullying or suspicious accounts, and being mindful of the things you are posting. #EDUC387710
“The impediments to learning in students’ environments outside of school should never become a basis for lowering expectations about what can be done to help them learn well in school.”
