In Celtic mythology deer are connected to the fairy realm or Otherworld. They are messengers associated with spirits, or gods who may shape shift into the form of deer. Some tales say they are “fairy cattle" herded and milked by an otherworldly woman.

Bringing a horseshoe to your #wedding day is an old tradition in Ireland! To bring the couple good luck in the ceremony & throughout their long life together! Many brides will have one in their floral bouquet. One was then hung over the door of their new home! #FairyTaleTuesday

It is traditional for a bride to wear a veil on her wedding day. Symbolising modesty and chastity the custom dates back to ancient Rome when brides covered themselves with veils as a disguise to fool evil spirits and to protect from any malicious intent.
