This article caught my attention because it’s a good reminder of something we tell our clients all the time:

Just because your data is in Microsoft 365 doesn’t mean it’s backed up.

We’re all dependent on platforms like Microsoft and Google to run our businesses. But licensing changes, policy changes, administrative mistakes, compromised accounts, or even simple human error can put years of company data at risk.

That’s one of the reasons working with the right IT and cybersecurity partner matters.

At @funcshun , we don’t rely solely on Microsoft to protect our clients’ data. We deploy independent third-party backups of Microsoft 365 so that if something goes wrong, we have another layer to recover from.

And backup is only part of it.

Someone should also be paying attention to licensing changes, security alerts, retention policies, administrative access, and the countless other things happening behind the scenes that most business owners shouldn’t have to think about every day.

We actually wrote about the Microsoft nonprofit licensing changes recently because we felt organizations needed to understand the potential risk.

Then I came across this article showing what can happen when those risks become reality.

Technology will change. Vendors will change their policies. Things will go wrong.

The important question is: if something happens to your data tomorrow, do you have a plan to get it back?

Prime day is the biggest day for Amazon. It is also a prime day for phishing. Phishing attacks are on the rise and will carry on for days even weeks to trick you into providing personal info. If it sounds too good to be true,it probably is.
