@Scaramucci, the Pope’s statements on Iran do not, and cannot rise to the level of papal infallibility. Your point about the US vice president, however, is well taken.
Her suitor was not ‘in love’ with her. Obsessed, maybe. But love does not lead a person to want to kill the object of one’s affection. Let us be clear, what she died for was the right to have her own beliefs and control over her body and future.
The Skull of Saint Agnes, the Relic of a 12-Year-Old Martyr 😱
Every January 21, the Church commemorates Saint Agnes, one of the youngest saints in Christianity. She was martyred in Rome during the early Christian persecutions at just 12 years of age, after rejecting the advances of Diocletian’s nephew, who was in love with her 💔
More than 1,700 years later, her skull is preserved in the church of Sant’Agnese in Agone, the site of her martyrdom. Pilgrims from around the world come to venerate the relic 💀

Thanks to @TheRestHistory for your brilliant podcast. I’ve been ill and listening to the series on Joan of Arc and Iran have helped immensely.
Also listening to previous series and loved Historical Love Island. Just a bit disappointed that Dr Valverde didn’t make it on.
#G20shutdown is a demand that the patriarchy and misogyny ends. Now.
I am tired of being resilient. I am tired of living in fear. I want full equality. All I askfor now is that you leave me in peace to be me. Is that so hard?

We can never forget the evil and horror from which we come.
Someone asked me how I dealt with the trauma that surrounds us. Perhaps in the darkness, I know that the African sun will rise on one more day.
