@MAAWmv@PoliceMv please check with K.Gulhi council on this and if this is true, please advise to stop this immediately..
Population Control kuran nagaa furathama fiyavalhakee merun kamah viya nudhee..
We do as much as we can , and the law here doesn't allow vets to use anesthesia outside the permitted clinic/hospital , it's not cheap (MVR.1500 to Mvr.2000 per cat) and no NGO here gets that much donations.. we are hardly affording to keep the street cats fed so ATM that's priority 1..
OlhuHiyaa will be sterilizing all the cats they take in , so hopefully the program will start soon..
Thank you @MAAWmv , @mmaryambu for taking most the cats near Flat 3 and 4 (Hulhumale).
That area has been the most violent against cats and we have been trying to solve the issue for over an year..
Now @AbdullaShaari , His mom and family could get a good nights sleep not worrying which cat they will find dead in the morning..
Really appreciate the work @Shariffxxxx is doing , glad he's handling most the operations at Olhuhiya 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Request for an Update on the Animal Welfare Bill..
The Animal Welfare Bill, submitted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare to Parliament in 2024, is a long-overdue step toward protecting animals in the Maldives.
The bill was sent to us by Parliament for review on March 18, 2025 , but we have yet to see any progress.
We have officially emailed the Parliament’s Social Affairs Committee
Requesting an update on:
• When the Parliament will begin work on this important legislation
• What the current status is
We urge the People's Majlis to prioritize this essential law and give animals the protection they deserve.
We sincerely thank the Parliament of the Maldives for the work they do for the nation, and we urge them to give this bill the attention and importance it truly deserves..

Mi area akee bulhalah aniyaa koh maraa area eh , kaan dhey meehunnaa zaathee koh jassaalaa , jessun koh ethah furassaara eh ves kuraa thaneh..
I raised this issue with the former Minister Dr. Ramee too and she tried to help as much as she can,
But because the Animal welfare bill has not been passed , police does nothing.. Baeh bill thah 24 gadi iru therey faas vaa iru mikahala baeh muhimmu kankamah dhey ahammiyyathu kuda vumakee hithaamaveri kameh 😔
This is what we found today at the Merry Brown Parking Area !! The cat houses have collapsed. 😔
We’re unsure if it was due to the heavy wind or if it was done deliberately, but if this was an intentional act, we strongly condemn it.
These shelters were made to protect the stray cats living in this area, especially now when it’s been raining heavily almost every day and the cats desperately need shelter. Destroying them, if done on purpose, is not just heartless, it’s cruel.
We ask the @PoliceMv where the CCTV you promised to install in this area is to help prevent such acts?
These animals deserve better, and so does the community that cares for them. If you can’t help, at least don’t harm...
@MAAWmv@MaleCitymv
@GirlieOnStrike@FelineWO@PoliceMv@MAAWmv Is this the cat you saw ?
The owner said the cats lives there , they keep the cat there because they have a rat problem.. they have been advised on how to treat and handle cats , hopefully what happened will not repeat. .
@FelineWO
We hope Male City is happy with the new rat population…
Since the disappearance of stray cats, it seems the rats have decided it’s their time to shine.....
Maybe the cats were doing a little more than just pooping on the streets ? 😊🐈💞
Thank you @aekofathih for the report and for caring about this matter.
We really hope that whatever happened has stopped , and that someone can help find out what happened to the cats..
Appreciate this..
We kindly request @MaleCitymv to please inform MCC cleaners not to remove the feeding bowls we keep at MerryBrown Parking Area for the stray cats.
This is the third time this year that we've had to replace them.
Keeping bowls helps feed wet food without making the area dirty or messy.
Thank you for your understanding and support...

Cats still disappearing !!!
Many stray cats are going missing in Malé , not just from feeding areas but even regular cats seen on the roads daily have gone missing within the last 4 weeks.
We ask the authorities to please help find out what’s happening before all cats are gone..
@MAAWmv@PoliceMv@MaleCitymv@rdcmaldives@WAMCOmv@MNDF_Official
These stray cats are a part of our community, and must be protected..
