As the response to the earthquake in Jajarkot district gathers pace, it is great to see the IFRC Disaster Response Emergency Fund (DREF) assisting 10,000 people through @NepalRedCross. The UK is proud to be a contributor to the DREF

A 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Jajarkot District of Nepal, the largest since 2015. It comes after a series of earthquakes that have been affecting the region in the past year. With IFRC-DREF support, @NepalRedCross is set to assist 10,000 affected people.
@NepalRedCross teams immediately swung into action. So far, they’ve distributed 1,500 tarpaulins, 1,500 blankets, 1,700 mattresses, 200 buckets, 800 rolls of rope and 250 body bags to the two most-affected districts.
As Vanuatu braces for cyclone #Lola to make landfall, @vanuaturedcross volunteers are on the ground, mobilising communities on what to do and how to be prepared should the weather get worse.
Teams are also moving families living near the coastlines to evacuation centres.
Cyclone Doksuri swept into China bringing strong winds and floods.
Teams from the Red Cross Society of China alongside authorities are on the ground providing immediate support.

In the North Pacific, Micronesia Red Cross volunteers are assisting families who recently had their homes damaged by strong winds.
Teams are distributing shelter took kits. These kits include ropes, hammers and nails, water storage containers, and tarpaulins.
