Is brainstem anatomy making you feel locked in?

Got your tectum & tegmentum confused?

Brainstem is divided top to bottom into midbrain, pons & medulla

But midbrain is also divided also front to back into 3 lamina!

To remember this anatomy: tectum like rectum so it's behind!

For the remaining anatomy:

➡️Basis rhymes with faces. Face is the most anterior on your head, so the basis is most anterior.

➡️Tegmental has MENTAL in it. Your mentality or mind is behind your face, so tegmentum is behind the basis.

▶️Can also remember that Tegmentum has more letters than Tectum, so it’s the wider part of the midbrain

This is a way to remember this anatomy that you can get behind!
