Infantino must go.
No matter where it’s held, the World Cup belongs to the fans – not gangsters like Trump.
We need someone who’ll finally kick corruption out of FIFA.
The UN's food agency warned that its food supplies for Sudan will be entirely exhausted in just two months, threatening to plunge millions of civilians into famine.
“In September, we will run out of food for our emergency operations across the country, which today reaches just one in five people in need of food assistance for survival," said Abdallah Alwardat, the World Food Programme’s (WFP) Country Director for Sudan.
The WFP attributed Sudan's deeping hunger crisis to “substantial military activity” around the city of Al-Obeid, which the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is beseiging.
The RSF has used starvation as a weapon of war throughout the conflict.
During the UAE-backed militia's year-long occupation of the central Sudanese state of Al-Jazira, known as the country's breadbasket, the RSF systematically destroyed crops, alongside looting farming equipment and UN warehouses, crippling Sudan's food supply.
Famine conditions have also been reported in cities besieged by the RSF, as the militia prevented food from entering, resulting in instances where children were documented resorting to eating tree leaves or charcoal.
Despite the RSF's reliance on these brutal tactics, Western powers remain notably silent regarding the militia’s Emirati sponsors.
While the UAE continues to funnel the weapons, logistics, and financing that sustain the RSF's campaign, international actors have avoided any meaningful condemnation or sanctions against their Emirati ally.
This refusal to challenge the RSF’s source of power reveals a double standard whereby western diplomatic and economic interests continue to be prioritised over the lives of millions facing starvation.
Membership list of FIFA's disciplinary committee which lifted Balogun's suspension - and of the appeal committee which will rule on Belgium's appeal (the USA chairman will have to recuse himself).
FIFA won’t intervene when Iran is forced to relocate to Mexico and banned from training in the U.S., but they’ll break their own rules to reinstate a U.S. player.
Best World Cup ever. Storm delayed games, hydration breaks, fans refused visas, Iranians treated like vermin, referees refused entry, cops kicking off over players taking pictures with kids, Infantino crying it in for Argentina and now a pedo bending the rules. Good job👍
