@chris_dreigon@CBoxSports McLain has baseball IQ to play anywhere, but he's an elite infielder and makes zero sense moving him. Elly to CF or try the OF experiment on Arroyo. He has not been solid at 2nd and isn't much of an upgrade at the plate. His MLB debut has been lackluster. Needs more time in AAA.
@JimCallahan4@autyelmore If he loved him so much, he would keep him in the infield where he is providing value to this team and allows him the most opportunity for success at the plate. Moving him to CF just makes him the "butt of the joke" It's definitely not helping him.
@bryce_spalding McLain was on a 79 game errorless streak at 2nd before covering for Elly at SS. He's hands down the best defensive player and the Reds think he's the best option for CF. Moving him from 2nd on a team that desperatly needs defense with their lack of pitching depth is just stupid.
@In_The_Middle76@cincitysports1 McLain had shoulder surgery that takes a couple years recovery. Last year shouldn't even be a factor. The guy sacrifices himself with diving plays, despite being injured from diving. The notion that he was never good and 2023 was a fluke is ridiculous. The hate is mind blowing.
@CBoxTrace McLain is the best defensive middle infielder, this makes no sense..idiots!!! Elly is and always will be the best option for CF. Since Reds aren't willing to move him, how about Arroyo. He's thrown 3 balls over firstbase and into the dugout. Looks like a good fit.
@Seifert_35@Reds@PNCBank Nope, instead you got to watch Elly, Arroyo, Stewart and pretty much the entire team waste their at bats. Can't keep blaming McLain.
@ctriway71@RedsDaily4 Unfortunately the hitting coach has no clue either. The entire team can't hit and these are all good baseball players, drafted for a reason. If they don't fire Valaika and the entire coaching staff this will never change.
@iamthegame2499@Kristyinblueash@Reds He hasn't earned it. Not a power hitter and hasn't made a difference in the lineup. Look at the impact McLain, Elly, Stewart, Bleday all had when called up to the big leagues. Not seeing the same with Arroyo.
@LordOfLight131@Kristyinblueash@Reds I'm not sure if you noticed, McLain is not the only one with up and down streaks - Stewart, Steer, Bleday...... Happens to every player on every team. For some reason everyone is hyperfocused on McLain. Quit moving him all over the line up, it's not helping.
@4pfcatch@Reds@PNCBank Arroyo didn't turn out to be the superstar everyone was clammering about. If he was ready for the big leagues, he should need more time to settle in.
