Podcast gems are harder & harder to find. But Alabama Astronaut from @FerrillGibbs and @AbePartridge was great. One of my deepest loves, music, combined with my biggest fear, snakes, with a touch of Appalachian rural religion thrown in. What a great series. Nice work, gentlemen.
A new addition to my Appalachian collection. This was recorded in the late 80s and was recently pressed by Idle Cherub records. I came across this because of the podcast @Alaastropodcast
"The richest man on earth could not buy what I've learned: The investigation of the deep, dark (and by "dark," I don't mean "evil") spiritual side of life...
It's metamorphosis." – Abe Partridge
Abe Partridge and Ferrill Gibbs, two musicians with Alabama ties, have a wild new podcast about the music of snake-handling churches: https://t.co/yzEBiAeAIH
In the pandemic summer of 2020, @abepartridge found what he believed to be undocumented music in a string of holiness churches across Appalachia.
His dear friend, @ferrillgibbs produced a podcast about it.
It will be released on Wednesday, 9/14/22

@anthonyallison_@CityCastHouston Ha! Well, as a die-hard Auburn fan, it's gotten disappointing to have Texas A&M in the SEC – 'cause I don't know when Auburn will beat them again! Thanks for listening to us, @anthonyallison_ !
We all can agree snakes are kinda scary, but that fear isn't really necessary. Catch producer @FerrillGibbs chatting with snakebite expert Dr. Spencer Greene on what to do if you get bit!

Just learned about this bizarre tale of ants, cannibalism, and an abandoned nuclear bunker. Thanks to @FerrillGibbs for the tip! https://t.co/kNKEHZ2D79
@sarahesmith23 This may be old news but there’s an Alpaca (I learned today) that does birthday parties ... I thought of you instantly. https://t.co/xx6nocAqje
@FerrillGibbs @srileychronicle @AScottKingsley@LisaGray_HouTX Really miss your daily podcast, listening all the way from MA. It was interesting to get a slice of the goings on in Houston and the challenge of CV. Sad the pod ended! Hope you'll be doing another soon.
@McJunk3 Thanks my friend! I appreciate you letting me know. Actually we do have one to celebrate my band’s new album. Podcast is called https://t.co/BSy5NYOmR2 - thanks again for listening!
