Former president William Ruto’s supporters and believers of Instant Miracle Centre have staged demonstrations in Nairobi saying that the former president is being targeted. They demanded for the immediate release of all former leaders who have been arrested for corruption during their tenure in office. Police lobbed teargas at the demonstrators dispersing them. The former president, now turned evangelist has condemned the actions of the police terming it as ‘excessive use of force’ The inspector general Bob Njagi is yet to issue a statement. Speaking from statehouse, the president has remained firm in his commitment to the Kenyan people about dealing with grand corruption. This follows a meeting with ambassadors and high commissioners of countries where ill gotten wealth stolen from the Kenyan people is believed to have been deposited.
