Conceptually Thinking Basketball: OWU Fall Szn
PREMIER 2030 | Fiona Faidley @FiFaidley (’30) – Des Moines Christian HS
5’5” Point Guard | @AllIowaAttack | Top Point Guard Nationally
Elite Floor General with Advanced Scoring Package
FALL SCORING PRODUCTION AGAINST ELITE COMPETITION
Points per shot efficiency remained above 1.18 when drawing primary defensive attention from nationally ranked guards—elite threshold for prospects operating with high usage. Three-point shooting percentage held at 41% during fall competition on contested catch-and-shoot attempts and pull-ups off the dribble. Free throw rate and conversion above 85% indicates ability to draw fouls and convert under pressure.
FACILITATING VISION AND DECISION-MAKING DISCIPLINE
The facilitating vision represents critical value proposition for Power 5 programs evaluating point guard prospects. Against Top 50 competition, Faidley’s assist-to-turnover ratio held at 2.1:1 with primary ball-handling responsibilities—well above average for prospects her age operating under defensive pressure.
BALL-HANDLING AND PRESSURE NAVIGATION
Ball-handling package allows navigation of full-court pressure and half-court traps without panic. Fall competition against nationally ranked defensive guards validated the advanced handle. She broke pressure with controlled dribbles, used changes of direction to create separation, and maintained court vision while handling defensive attention.
PACE CONTROL AND TEMPO MANIPULATION
Pace control separates functional point guards from elite floor generals. Faidley demonstrated systematic manipulation of tempo throughout fall competition—pushing pace off defensive rebounds when numbers advantages existed, slowing tempo to execute half-court sets when transition opportunities closed, recognizing late clock situations requiring immediate offense.
COMPETITIVE CHARACTER VALIDATION
The competitive character assessment validates projection under elite pressure. When matched against Top 20 point guards in the 2030 class, Faidley competed possession-by-possession without backing down. Against a highly recruited guard with multiple Power 5 offers, she responded to defensive pressure with efficient scoring—four three-pointers, three assists, zero turnovers across critical possessions.
SYSTEMATIC DEVELOPMENT INFRASTRUCTURE
Iowa Attack EYBL platform provides elite development infrastructure and consistent exposure to top national competition. Fall circuit schedule included matchups against premier guard prospects from major metropolitan programs, giving Faidley repeated opportunities testing her skill set against diverse defensive schemes and athletic profiles.
ANALYTICAL FRAMEWORK METRICS
The statistical profile from fall competition predicts collegiate success: points per shot above 1.18 demonstrates elite shot selection and finishing ability, assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.1:1 reflects decision-making maturity, three-point percentage at 41% creates spacing value that forces defensive attention, free throw rate and conversion indicates ability to draw fouls and capitalize.
THE @coachbeechum VERDICT
Fall circuit competition validated Fiona Faidley’s status as premier point guard in 2030 class nationally. Against elite competition, she demonstrated scoring efficiency, facilitating vision, and competitive character that predict collegiate success.
Train with purpose. Think with structure. Win with intelligence.

First Nike EYBL Nationals in the books and it was a great experience. Played against some of the top teams in the country and got to do it with the best teammates I could ever ask for. 3rd place was short of the ultimate goal but we will be back again next year
