Patella dislocations: walk it off.
Knee dislocations: *internally panic for a min* Check pulses (yours & pt’s). ABIs. Call attending. Reduce and ex fix. Vascular on stand by. Staged reconstruction.
Very different.
Patella dislocations- the patella is no longer in the trochlea of the femur. It is off to the side, usually laterally. These reduce easily. No risk to neurovascular structures.
