@rejserin@Pagan5242@kittysull1 And yet you implied similarities with the BNP and denial of minority rights. Or perhaps you just randomly turned up on this thread to share unrelated memories of days gone by. If that’s the case, I remember enjoying Blake’s 7 when I came back from cubs, happy days !
@JennyAscendant Seriously ? Her original claim is right there in your quote tweet. “trans identifying males are no risk to women”. If you’re going to try these Trump style post truth tactics there’s no point continuing. Have a good one.
@DavidPaisley@WanderedOut That’s a shame when your thread is clearly telling people that care about women only spaces that they are driven by hate. I hope you take some time to think maybe lesbian only spaces, same sex protections and women’s dignIty, safety and respect isn’t actually hate or moral panic.
@JennyAscendant characteristics which exclude other males, requires extraordinary evidence. The prison data, amongst other things, shows this evidence does not exist.
@JennyAscendant I am tired of seeing terms like “debunked”when no such thing has happened. It is untrue to say that those statistics tell you ”zilch” about the general population. An extraordinary claim that some males should be included in female spaces, because they don’t share the…
@JennyAscendant If she was making a claim that transwomen should be treated differently to other males because of that 3x number then I would agree it’s inappropriate. But she isn’t, she’s saying they should be treated the same.
@JennyAscendant I don’t think it’s incorrect. I think the 3x figure needs to be treated with caution, like many statistical claims. The claim that trans identifying males pose no threat to women is clearly incorrect though.
@JennyAscendant Sharron’s opening line is about LibDems claiming trans identifying males are no threat to women. She then cites data which shows that claim is untrue. You are the one trying to divert the discussion to whether the 3x risk number is statistically sound. We can all read.
@JennyAscendant a danger, just like all men. The difference is, this is the only group of men who are being widely supported to access women only spaces, services and sports.
@JennyAscendant You realise that debunking and highlighting statistical issues with data are two different things ? This data clearly shows that the claim that transwomen are no danger to women is untrue. You can argue whether they are a greater danger or the same as other men, but they are…
@jaymurt2805@johncox510456@helenstaniland Oh I agree. I’ve seen more misogyny following this topic than I ever believed existed. Not just the classic hating women but the hugely more prevalent disregard for women entirely. Shameful.
@jaymurt2805@johncox510456@helenstaniland I’m always hopeful that people are realising that those who think women deserve their own spaces, services and sports aren’t hateful nazi bigots but actually have a point. The mental gymnastics is so they can agree without having to admit it. But I’m probably too naive.
@jaymurt2805@johncox510456@helenstaniland It’s good to see John coming round to the SC judgement. Women only spaces or mixed sex. No law change required, everyone happy.
@jakonian Serious question. Do you really believe that people who think women should have their own spaces, services and sports are driven by irrational hatred ?
@joss_prior@BevJacksonAuth That’s nearly correct. The trans woman could bring a claim of GR discrimination if they were treated differently because they are trans. However, in the case of women only facilities they are being treated the same as other males, therefore no GR discrimination.
@Aek366@Mullers1993@LGBTCons@IndiaWilloughby Well if you imagine they appear to have implied it, what more excuse do you need to pour buckets of water on people at Pride ? Seems totally reasonable to me.
