You calling a late-night joke “violent” would be laughable if it weren’t so blatantly dishonest.

You defended Donald Trump when he threatened catastrophic destruction against Iran, language that implied the death of tens of millions.

You stayed silent when Trump shared racist imagery dehumanizing Barack Obama and his family, tapping into a long, ugly history of comparing Black people to animals to justify hatred and violence.

You excused the January 6 United States Capitol attack, where more than 100 police officers were assaulted and lives were lost, all in service of a lie.

You said nothing when Trump encouraged police brutality, telling officers not to be “too nice,” and nothing when peaceful protesters were tear-gassed for a political photo-op with a Bible.

You said nothing when Trump mocked, demeaned, and even expressed satisfaction over the suffering and deaths of political opponents, yet now you suddenly find your moral voice when a comedian tells a joke.

And now you want to pretend this is about decency.

No, this is not about decency. It is about selective outrage, partisan loyalty, and a willingness to sanctify anything, no matter how vile, as long as it comes from the right person.

Calling Jimmy Kimmel’s joke dangerous while defending years of dehumanizing, violent rhetoric is not Christian. It’s hypocrisy dressed up in scripture.

I can’t say that I’m surprised because you defended Trump when he bragged about grabbing women by their vaginas and brushed it off as “locker room talk.“

You defended Trump when he threatened mass death against an entire nation. You defended Trump when he mocked the vulnerable, the poor, and the powerless.

You defend Trump no matter how vile, reprehensible, immoral, or inhumane his behavior is. Your moral compass is broken. What you practice is not Christianity, it’s idolatry with Bible verses attached. You’re not defending Christ, you’re protecting power.

And every time you excuse wickedness for the sake of a political alliance you prove you’re more loyal to white supremacy than you are to the Gospel.
