My doctor told me that sometimes I have to do stuff that's not good for my health, but if it brings me a lot of joy, it's ok to do it anyway.
Sometimes my enjoyment is more important than the pain that I'll have after.

because she was using a wheelchair and not crutches. She was in a lot of pain when she walked with crutches. Why the hell would she choose that over a wheelchair????
Why was she expected to put herself in even more pain???

When I was in a clinic to be treated for chronic pain, I talked to a nurse about another patient and I said that I really liked and admired her cause she was so positive all the time (something I really struggled with at the time) but the nurse just said the patient could do more

Just heard on the radio 'I don't think we'll ever see the Queen in a wheelchair' she wouldn't give in. Can we all (including the media) stop this idea that using a wheelchair is giving in or so awful that we couldn't possibly see a 95 year old use one if she needed.

@md_no Not a theory, but I highly recommend Derek Jarman's "Chroma". This book has completely changed how I see and experience colour. Seriously if you have even the slightest interest in colour, do yourselves a favour and read it. It's breathtaking!

@Propofolium Bei mir wurde als Kind ein Teil vom Fuß amputiert ohne ein off-lable use Medikament hätte ich heute schreckliche Phantomschmerzen. Auch jetzt nehme ich ein Medikament das off-lable use ist. Unser System ist langsam, manchmal gibt es nicht genügend Teilnehmer für Studien etc.

Unfriendly reminder that "go touch some grass" or variations of it, are ableist. Many disabled people can't "touch grass" cause they are housebound and can't go outside to do that.
I see this phrase every single day on this website and it's so fucking annoying!

When Sarah Everard died thousands of men signed up for a specific course on masculinity & gender inequality.

Barely 10% actually showed up to the course. Only engaging in conversations about male violence when another woman has died is part of the reason they are still dying.

@JenSookfongLee I can understand that Bob Dylan wrote great lyrics, but giving this prize to him signaled to authors in that year that none of them were worthy of that prize and that's just fucking rude and untrue.
