Who is responsible for the kids suffering from measles? https://t.co/YjbTLGDQ9K Total Yunus (@Yunus_Centre) government must be prosecuted. @bdbnp78 must acknowledge the gravity of the situation and their failure to control the situation. Don't play with kids.
The recent decision to #scrap the 5th Health, Population, and Nutrition Sector Programme (#HPNSP) has triggered significant service disruptions across Bangladesh, which validate concerns that halting a decades-long framework without a ready alternative could be #catastrophic.
It is not just #Measles #Vaccination, but Vaccination as a whole and well beyond that!
There is now #medicine #shortage (no drugs procured between July 2024 and May 2025, including 22 essential medicines – and UHCs are running out of diabetes and hypertension medicines)!
#Community #Clinics are running out of drugs/medicines, where over 500k people were served every freaken day!
Without USAID funding – #TB control program is in #disarray!
~20k #skilled #human #resources carried over from 4th HPNSP do not know what to do since this “transition” has left them in complete #uncertainty!
THIS IS CRIMINAL!!!
A dangerous #measles outbreak in #Bangladesh this year has claimed the lives of at least 46 children, with experts linking the tragedy to gaps in #vaccination coverage, under the #Yunus-led Interim Govt.
Health officials report that measles and related complications have spread across #Dhaka and several other districts. The true death toll may be even higher, as authorities lack comprehensive nationwide data on measles-related fatalities.
Medical experts note that a significant number of hospitalized children were unvaccinated, pointing to the recent lapses in #immunization efforts as a key factor behind the outbreak.
In Bangladesh, children aged 9 to 15 months are scheduled to receive two doses of the measles vaccine under the national Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI). While routine vaccination coverage typically reaches 90–92%, additional nationwide campaigns are conducted every four years to close immunity gaps. The last such drive took place in 2020.
However, the planned follow-up campaign in 2024 was not carried out by the Interim Govt. Additionally, in 2025, the regular EPI programme faced multiple interruptions due to strikes by health workers responsible for administering vaccines, particularly in rural areas. These disruptions were further compounded by a funding shortfall under the Interim Govt following the suspension of a key sector programme that supports vaccination efforts.
Public health specialists suggest that the missed 2024 vax campaign, combined with subsequent disruptions to routine immunization services, contributed significantly to the current outbreak.

The Interim Govt, particularly Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum, has faced sharp criticism over their handling of the country’s immunisation programme. Critics argue that policy failures and disruptions under their leadership contributed to gaps in vaccination coverage, which in turn led to the deadly ongoing outbreak.
Public health experts and observers say these lapses reflect serious shortcomings in planning and implementation, with devastating consequences for vulnerable children and their families. They stress that accountability and urgent corrective measures are essential to prevent further loss of life and to restore confidence in the national immunisation system.

Multiple major outlets now report that the U.S. has carried out direct military action in Venezuela and claims to have captured President Nicolás Maduro, with Washington openly suggesting interim control over the country and its oil sector.
Venezuelan state institutions contest both the legality and the reality of this removal, and no neutral international body has yet independently adjudicated the claims. What is undeniable, however, is the precedent being asserted: that a sovereign head of state may be forcibly removed by an external power under the language of democracy and transition. Even if disputed in detail, the doctrine is being rehearsed in public, sovereignty as conditional, revocable, and ultimately subordinate to geopolitical alignment.
We should bear in mind on October 31, 2025, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard addressed the IISS Manama Dialogue 2025 in Manama, Bahrain in the following manner, and I quote: “For decades, our foreign policy has been trapped in a counterproductive and endless cycle of regime change or nation-building. It was a one-size-fits-all approach of toppling regimes, trying to impose our system of governance on others, intervening in conflicts that were barely understood, and walking away with more enemies than allies. The result: trillions spent, countless lives lost, and in many cases, a creation of greater security threats, the rise of Islamist terrorist groups like ISIS.”
The identity of this gentleman could not be confirmed. However, he is a valiant freedom fighter.
Today, he went to Shahbagh holding a placard to protest against the distortion of the history of the Liberation War and the continued humiliation of freedom fighters. At that time, supporters of Osman Hadi were staging a protest at Shahbagh over Hadi’s killing.
At one point, they attacked this freedom fighter, assaulted him, and publicly humiliated him. A woman also took part in the attack.
This is the condition of freedom fighters in today’s Bangladesh, born out of the Liberation War.
