America's federal budget that same year was roughly 58 times India's entire budget. Going from there to a Rs 53.47 lakh crore budget is an insane leap and would have blown the minds of leaders of that era.

Leaving aside the politics of @BJP4India and @INCIndia, the case of Meenakshi Natarajan represents a complete travesty of justice and fair play by the entire system, cutting across all pillars of democracy.

✅ The Returning Officer rejected her nomination in blatant violation of Section 33A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, read with Section 210 & 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

✅ On 11.06.2026, despite fervent pleas made by @DrAMSinghvi, @ECISVEEP sat on the judgment, and the Supreme Court declined to intervene even for a day till proper hearing. With no interim order by the Apex Court or the ECI, the Returning Officer declared the result!

✅ The matter was heard by the Supreme Court this forenoon. However, without examining the apparent illegality in the Returning Officer's order, the petition was dismissed in terms of the attached order on the ground that Article 329 bars judicial intervention after the declaration of results and that only an Election Petition can now be filed.

✅ While the fate of the case was effectively sealed when the Supreme Court declined to stay the declaration of the result, it was surprising to hear a legal luminary of Mr. Mukul Rohatgi's stature argue that the description of an entry in Form 26 overrides Section 33A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951!!

✅ Let me attempt to demonstrate why that contention is untenable. Form 26 was prescribed under Rule 4A of the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961, which themselves derive their authority from the Representation of the People Act, 1951. Yet it was implicitly argued that Entry 5(ii) of Form 26 overrides Section 33A of the parent statute!!

✅ Moreover, even after Section 33A and Rule 4A were introduced in August–September 2002, @SpokespersonECI, through its letter dated 10.09.2012, categorically clarified that Entry 5(ii) covers only those cases in which cognizance has been taken by a competent court. That condition was clearly not applicable in the case of @MNatarajanINC.

✅ Appearing virtually from London, Mr. Rohatgi argument, that a candidate's right to contest elections is merely a statutory right and not afundamental right, may hold relevance in normal circumstances. However, this was no ordinary case. By adopting a perverse interpretation of Section 33A, the Returning Officer descended to the nadir of partisan conduct and effectively denied the candidate the equal protection of the law guaranteed under Article 14 of the Constitution. In this case, Section 210 read with 223 of BNSS makes it conclusively fall beyond the purview of Entry 5(ii) of Form 26.

I would be happy to be corrected by anyone looking at facts and laws objectively. I am sure that @sardesairajdeep @_YogendraYadav @KapilSibal @adrspeaks @Mukul_Rohatgi @harishsalvee et al will appreciate that, by not intervening in time, #GyaneshKumar led ECI and the top court just let the case shift from Article 32 to Article 329 and the Returning Officer hide under it.

इसी तरह एक और विधायक राजेंद्र भारती जी को रात 12 बजे निष्कासित कर दिया गया।

BJP ने राज्यसभा चुनाव की ये धांधली चुनाव आयोग के साथ मिलकर लगभग 6 महीने पहले शुरू कर दी थी।

ये आदमी कहां है?
एसवाई कुरैशी, ओपी रावत, अशोक लवासा चुनाव आयोग से रिटायर होने के बाद एक सम्मानजनक और एक्टिव लाइफ जी रहे हैं, इनकी गिनती देश के बड़े पब्लिक इंटेलेक्चुअल्स में होती है. इनके लेख छपते हैं, सेमिनारों या लेक्चर्स में बुलाया जाता है, मीडिया इनके इंटरव्यू लेता है, किताबें लिख रहे हैं.
इन्होंने चुनाव आयोग में रहते हुये संविधान के प्रति अपना कर्तव्य निभाया.
लेकिन राजीव कुमार कहां है? इसके बारे में अफवाहें उड़ती हैं कि माल्टा भाग गया. चुनाव आयोग से पहले वित्त सचिव भी रहा है. इससे कोई आर्टिकल तक नहीं लिखवा रहा है. क्यों?
कहीं छुप पर रह रहा है.
किसी सेमिनार या पब्लिक इवेंट में नहीं आ सकता.
रिटायरमेंट के बाद किसी पब्लिक प्लेस में नहीं देखा गया.
सरकार ने भी इसे इस लायक नहीं समझा कि गवर्नर ही बना देते.
कारण क्या है इस गुमनामी के जीवन का:
क्या इसे जनता के गुस्से का डर हैं?
राजीव कुमार ने चुनाव आयोग को सरकार के सामने सरेंडर करा दिया. आयोग में रहते हुए ये खुद भी बीजेपी के नेता की तरह बर्ताव करता था, विपक्षी पार्टियों से मिलता नहीं था, उनकी सुनता नहीं था, चिट्ठियों का जवाब भी बदतमीज़ी के साथ देता था. मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे जी को इसका जवाब असभ्य भाषा में था.
प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में मुद्दों पर बात करने की जगह सस्ती शायरी सुनाता था. लोकसभा, महाराष्ट्र और हरियाणा चुनाव इसने पक्षपातपूर्ण कराये, मोदी से मॉडल कोड लागू नहीं करा पाया और विपक्षी पार्टियों को धौंस में लेने की कोशिश की.
इन सब पापों की वजह से आज इसमें इतना नैतिक साहस नहीं है कि सम्मानजनक रिटायर्ड जीवन जी सके.
जहां चाहे आ जा सके, किसी इवेंट में चीफ गेस्ट बन सके, कोई किताब, लेख लिखे, कहीं इसे भाषण देने के लिये बुलाया जाय. सोशल मीडिया से भी गायब है और अपने कर्मों की वजह से एक तिरस्कृत जीवन जीने को मजबूर है.
यही हाल ज्ञानेश गुप्ता का होगा.
भविष्य की सरकारें राजीव कुमार और ज्ञानेश गुप्ता भले ही नरम हो जायें लेकिन जनता का दबाव इन्हें जेल भेजने का रहेगा.
इन दोनों ने चुनाव आयोग में रहते हुये भारत के संवैधानिक लोकतंत्र को बड़ा नुकसान किया है.

भारत के प्रधानमंत्री ने बेशर्मी की सारी हदें पार कर दी हैं। एक तरफ अमेरिका ने तीन दिनों में तीन जहाज़ों पर हमला किया, जिसमें तीन भारतीयों की मौत हो गई। मोदी जी भारतीयों की मौत पर अमेरिका का विरोध करने के बजाय अपनी प्रशंसा सुनकर ट्रंप को धन्यवाद देने में व्यस्त हैं। ट्रंप को धन्यवाद तो दे रहे हैं, मगर भारतीयों की मौत पर शोक का एक भी ट्वीट नहीं। क्या देश को ऐसा दब्बू और लाचार प्रधानमंत्री चाहिए ?

He interacted with the troops and appreciated their dedication, devotion to duty and unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region.

GOC #SpearCorps ने #Manipur के तुपुल, में तैनात #AssamRifles यूनिट तथा चंदेल जिले में भारत-म्यांमार सीमा पर स्थित #AssamRifles की अग्रिम चौकियों का दौरा किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने Operational तैयारियों, सीमा प्रबंधन उपायों और मौजूदा सुरक्षा स्थिति की समीक्षा की। सभी सैनिकों को संबोधित करते हुए, GOC #SpearCorps ने उनके समर्पण, कर्तव्यनिष्ठा और क्षेत्र में शांति व स्थिरता बनाए रखने के प्रति उनके प्रतिबद्धता की सराहना की।
